Acca Kappa

A village close to Venice in Italy was the place where Acca Kappa was established in 1869 by Hermann Krull, sr, a young Germand merchant from Prussia. He chose Treviso as his company's base. The land in and around Treviso was mainly used for agricultural purposes then, but has developed into a province with mainly industrial and business activities. The original focus of the company was the manufacturing of premium brushes and accessories from fine materials from the Orient. The quality of their brushes was well-known and Acca Kappa was made the official brush supplier to the British Royal Family. By the end of 2011 Acca Kappa has been Italy’s favourite and most successful manufacturer of brushes. Since the very beginning the company has stayed in the family's ownership for most of the time. When the company was disseized from the German merchant during the First World War, Krull, who had six sons by that time, bought it back from the Italian government. When Krull passed away in 1936, the family bought the company back one more time. During the second half of the last century, the company not only stabilized their business-to-customer relationships, but ventured into new business sectors. Acca Kappa now sell different products like soaps, hand cream, shaving foams and accessories, hair and skin care products and perfumes. Natural materials like honey, yeast, wheat germ and other plant extracts are used wherever possible. The use of natural ingredients and the manufacture and use of machines especially designed for Acca Kappa helped the company produce premium good of the highest quality. This is return has resulted in Acca Kappa being recognized as an upmarket brand that is trusted by all their customers. 1997 was the year that saw the presentation of the company's first perfume. White Moss, an aromatic fragrance with fresh, spicy and musky notes, was launched as a unisex scent. The fresh composition of Cedro for men was launched in 1999. The first fragrance for women only was the white flower perfume Calycanthus which hit the shelves in 2003. 2004 saw the release of a range of perfumes for women. Glicine, a floral fragrance, was composed of wisteria, sandalwood and other floral, fruity and woody notes. Hibiscus, another floral scent, features notes of hibiscus, magnolia, amber, heliotrope and bergamot. The third floral composition of the collection, Mimoa, is built around mimose, sandalwood, almond, citruses, heliotrope and bergamot. The men's fragrance 1869, named after the year the company Acca Kappa was founded, was presented in 2005. Designer Acca Kappa has 31 perfumes in our fragrance base. The earliest edition was created in 1997 and the newest is from 2024. Acca Kappa fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Luca Maffei and Vincent Ricord.
