Alessandro Dell' Acqua
Alessandro Dell’Acqua is an Italian fashion designer born in 1962 in Naples, Italy. He graduated from the Art Institute of Naples. Some of his first employments were the Marzotto Group as well as Maska, Byblos, Genny and Gilmar. He also collaborated on designs for Les Copains and Iceberg. His specialty was knitwear and he started working for Pietro Pianforini, the famous knitwear designer. The designer worked with a small group of artisans in Bologna, Italy. This group now works for him. In 1995, Alessandro Dell'Acqua founded his own brand and he presents his collections of womenswear and menswear on fashion weeks in Milan. His great breakthrough was his 1996 collection "Punk on a Mediterranean Woman". Alessandro has added various other products and accessories to his offer with time - men's and women's ready-to-wear, footwear, eyewear, fragrances and bags. He designs for the Swiss house of Bally, as well as for lingerie company La Perla. The brand expanded overseas, to the U.S. by opening a showroom and a store on Madison Avenue. Dell’Acqua’s creations are very feminine, curve-hugging and sensual, inspried by the women of classic Italian cinema.
