Nestled amongst the creative and fashionable leaders in one of the most vibrant cities in the world is HERBA London, an exciting new line of elegant, gender-neutral fragrances created by Peter de Bique, a Londoner with a passion for simple, sophisticated design, which is demonstrated in 8 carefully handcrafted fragrances. "It’s true to say HERBA has grown out of a lifelong passion for fragrance," says Peter.  Throughout his formative years frequenting barbershops where he would feel deliciously intoxicated by the smell of bay rum and neroli, to coveting luxurious colognes in department stores as a teenager, these experiences shaped Peter’s interest and a continual curiosity for scent. A property consultant by profession, Peter has been fortunate to spend his time frequenting some of London’s most prestigious homes, where he has gathered inspiration from Architects and Interior Designers who share his love for traditional craftsmanship. With his creative thirst ignited, he further immersed himself in the worlds of contemporary art, gentleman’s fashion, minimalist design, and the craft of making natural skincare and beauty products. A chance meeting with an industry veteran in 2010 resulted in the idea of creating fragrances using essential oils combined with other natural ingredients. Peter attended courses and met with independent perfumers whilst embarking on his self-taught journey, which simply intensified his desire to develop handcrafted perfumes, using only the finest of ingredients. The result is simple, uniquely sophisticated and chic fragrances, representative of the diverse nature of the city he knows and loves. The name HERBA was chosen for its salute to herbal properties and is representative of the brand's ethos; creating a product that is as naturally close to source as possible. Peter continues, "I’m seeking the synergy between nature, unusual scents and combining this with traditional craftsmanship. Experimentation is the driving force behind the brand, and only using the highest quality ingredients are the key elements I embrace. As a creator I’m working in the emotional realm as much as the sensory realm, and so scent becomes the bridge between the two. It’s an emotional experience. It’s compelling. And this is what HERBA strives to be." Exceptional essential and fragrance oils are used to create each of HERBA’s handcrafted products, that draw-out the combinations of every scent, be it bergamot with jasmine and mandarin, or musk with black pepper and saffron.
