Jacques Heim's parents, Isidore and Jeanne Heim, Polish Jews, are furriers, they opened a fur workshop in 1898, one year before the birth of their son. Young Jacques started to work with his parents. He makes dresses and coats with original fabrics in collaboration with Sonia Delaunay, a multifaceted artist. In 1925, he participated with Sonia Delaunay at the “Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes” in Paris. They exhibit together "the shop simultaneously." He designed a department "Heim Jeunes Filles" the same year in order to adapt the tastes of youth. "Heim Young Girls" is a young, fresh and simple collection but of a very specific cup with a waist sometimes very marked. Evening dresses are made of transparent silk alternating with pretty lace small spikes of romance. The young girls have their changing salon with catalogs at their disposal where they can choose their favorite dresses. The collection "Heim Young Girls" will continue until the closure of the fashion house in 1969. In the 1930-1940s, Jacques Heim launched several limited edition fragrances that were sold in his boutique: Je Veux, Amour, Alambic. In 1949, the designer founded his company 'Parfums Jacques Heim" to make a wider distribution. In 1958, Jacques Heim became a president of the Union Chamber of Parisian Couture. He was the appointed fashion designer of Madame de Gaulle (president's wife).Jacques Heim died 8 January 1967 and his fashion and perfume houses were closed in 1969.
