I secured a 75ml bottle of Van Cleef & Arpels Ambre Imperiale at an attractive discount from a reputable online retailer, having initially received a 2ml sample tester with a prior order from the same vendor. As someone who's enamored with warm, sweet amber notes in fragrances, I found that this one hit the mark perfectly. The opening features a well-balanced pink pepper/spice accord that adds warmth to the overall scent. It soon transitions to a rich, warm, and sweet amber/vanilla accord that exudes elegance and beauty. This fragrance is utterly unisex, with its cashmere-soft amber/vanilla/musk blend providing warmth and comfort. It projects nicely without being overpowering, and it has impressive staying power. For me, this has become an all-time favorite, and I would definitely repurchase from the VC & R "Collection Extraordinare" line. Elegant, classy, sophisticated, refined, warm, and comforting – these words perfectly describe my experience with Van Cleef & Arpels Ambre Imperiale.
Elegant and refined. Although it may appeal to some as a masculine scent, I believe it truly shines as an option for women as well. Upon initial application, its woody, ambery vanilla notes present themselves in a smooth, creamy, and slightly smoky way, reminiscent of a fireplace but with a more natural, less artificial quality.
Oriental spicy notes are indeed present. A blend of amber, benzoin, vanilla, and Tonka beans is also characteristic. The elegant and understated packaging is a classic example of luxury design. This perfume embodies the essence of winter's sophistication. 😊
The patchouli in the base notes stands out as a refreshing and dynamic component, paired remarkably well with the rich tones of amber.
A delightful response to "the owl"! A scent featuring amber and impressive longevity from a renowned designer: Mugler's Mirror Collection Miroir des Majestes. Although targeted towards women, its blend of notes bears uncanny resemblance to Xerjoff 1888 and Amouage Opus VIII, making it surprisingly unisex. Plus, the price is quite reasonable! I do hope you can find it on Notino and enjoy it as much as I do 😊
