Ambre Russe

I was thrilled to receive a sample of this perfume from a fragrantican, and I must say it's an absolute gem! The rich, boozy, and classy scent is reminiscent of fine amber, incense, top-shelf champagne, cinnamon, tea, leather, and something sweetly floral. On my skin, the clean yet dirty notes of amber shine through, making for a truly divine fragrance. I'm so impressed that I'm already planning to add it to my collection with a full-bottle purchase. It has the potential to join my top 5 favorite perfumes!

I acquired a sample of this perfume alongside three others. Initially, I tried them simultaneously and became overwhelmed. However, upon waking up to find a thin layer of ice on my car in 38-degree Fahrenheit weather, which is unusually cold for me, I decided to retest this scent solo. To my surprise, the moment I caught the fragrance on my wrist, I fell head over heels in love with it. It's remarkably warm and soothing, allowing me to detect the incense right away. The rum note is evident, which I believe contributes to the woody scent being dry yet smooth, without overwhelming my senses like other dry fragrances often do.

My fourth fragrance from Parfum d'Empire to try out. Initially, I sampled it briefly in-store and was mesmerized by its performance. This perfume has an enchanting quality that leaves you captivated from the get-go. The boisterous boozy note is particularly striking, as it bursts forth instantly, evoking a sense of revelry and making me want to don a tuxedo for a night out. Notwithstanding, I concur with others that this boozy accord dissipates swiftly. What remains is an agreeable amber fragrance that lingers pleasantly on the skin. I don't have many amber-based perfumes in my collection, but I must admit I'll be finishing this bottle more rapidly than Ambre Sultan. While it's suitable for both men and women, I find that Ambre Russe is particularly well-suited for a man, with its softer, more approachable quality making it easy to wear. Overall, I highly recommend this perfume as a worthy addition to one's collection.

An opening that undoubtedly exudes a strong liquor-like essence. I detect an immortelle presence, although it's not explicitly mentioned in its composition. The juniper note lends a distinctively masculine character to this scent. The Russian tea accord (bergamot, orange, and mandarin) subtly elevates the aroma to a gourmet level... It settles comfortably after about thirty minutes, but the leather note lingers for an extended period. The dry down is relatively subdued. This fragrance doesn't quite compare to Lubin's Akkad in terms of its amber accord, my benchmark.

The scent of pipe tobacco is lovely, especially when it's a sweet and beautiful accompaniment to a man's presence. I must say, the sillage in Ambre Russe is impressive - it's as if the fragrance bursts forth with a gentle yet powerful bloom. The overall effect is both pretty and enveloping, making it a truly long-lasting and memorable scent.
