I love Amour de Cacao. It has a cereal-like scent, reminiscent of cocoa in milk, and it's delicious—less orangey than Chocolovers. In my opinion, it's even more enjoyable. I can't imagine my life without it. Another excellent creation from CSP!
I've made a real effort to appreciate this scent, trying it in various settings—different weather, different moods—and hoping I was simply missing the right opportunity for it to shine. After several attempts, though, I've come to realize it's just not for me. The bold and somewhat chemical upfront feel leaves me with a pounding headache that lasts hours, but as it begins to settle, I remain underwhelmed. While I had hoped it would evoke the rich, indulgent experience of fine chocolate, it falls short of capturing that decadent essence. Though I love foodie-inspired perfumes in theory—especially those with gourmand notes—I don't feel a connection to Amour de Cacao. It feels like it’s not striving for much beyond its gourmand roots, and even then, it doesn’t quite hit the mark for me.
This fragrance is absolutely wonderful! It feels so warm and inviting, almost like a sweet, cozy gourmand. To me, it smells reminiscent of rich, high-end chocolate cake—moist, delicious, and undeniably seductive. The main notes I pick up are definitely chocolate and vanilla, with a subtle hint of orange adding just the right touch of complexity. I genuinely adore this scent and love wearing it on its own or layering it with other gourmand fragrances, especially ones that have berry notes.
The perfume is elegant and sleek, with a shimmering chocolate scent that feels almost edible in its richness. There's a waxy fruitiness with a tangy edge, adding a bright, zesty dimension to the overall fragrance. I also notice hints of starfruit's bright, almost citrus-like tang.
This scent feels creamy and sugary. It reminds me more of a weak chocolate biscuit than a strong chocolate chip cookie. There's a nutty undertone, but it lacks a rich cocoa depth. The fruit elements are pretty lost on me.
