Reviews

Bought the sampler pack of ELDO after being intrigued by their reputation. The first scent I tried left me with mixed feelings initially - the camphor had a medicinal quality reminiscent of vapo-rub and the plum note was redolent of a candle store atmosphere. While none of these notes typically resonate with my preferences, surprisingly, I've grown fond of it after 30 minutes. The uniqueness and artistry behind this scent make it suitable for specific occasions, such as outdoor events or evenings, rather than everyday wear, let alone formal settings. Its profile may not appeal to everyone, and I wouldn't recommend wearing it in enclosed spaces; however, it's a nice introduction to ELDO's offerings.

The dominance of the balsamic note is overpowering, making this scent reminiscent of a strong cold cream for neck pain relief... The overwhelming canfora presence reveals a weak fruity undertone (plum) and a sprinkle of pepper. This perfume has a medicinal quality to it. Would it be beneficial for physical therapists? No thanks.

The unconventional charm of this perfume! A true original, it bursts with the carefree essence of pink pepper, which entwines itself around the elegant orchid, anchored by the earthy patchouli. Meanwhile, the camphor imbues the scent with a captivating energy, elevating it to an otherworldly aura. While not for every taste, this daring fragrance is well worth exploring.

The opening is marked by pink pepper and feminine notes of pink, with a spicy quality reminiscent of the sensuality it aims to evoke. A pleasant yet slightly awkward sensation develops from the plum's luscious, almost edible sweetness. The overall blend becomes a saccharine mix that fails to resonate with me. I miss the presence of camphor and incense, which would have added depth to an otherwise fleeting introduction. Instead, musk and benzoin bring a softening touch, making the scent more approachable but less impactful. This perfume appears to be designed for a woman who wants to be admired without being too overt, someone who is reserved yet capable of surprising others. It's not a fragrance I would recommend for men, as the camphor may only subtly manifest in the finish. Overall, I give this scent an average 7 out of 10, with its performance falling short of exceptional.

A blend of notes that doesn't quite harmonize for my taste. The initial mandarin top note and subtle pink pepper are quickly overpowered by the prominent camphor and plum, creating an overpowering scent that lasts far beyond 30 minutes. I was eager to try this perfume due to online recommendations, but unfortunately, its unique blend of ingredients doesn't resonate with me. The fruit notes come across as overly sweet and ripe, while the heavy camphor and musk weigh it down further. Ultimately, Archives 69's inability to decide on a single direction – spring or fall – makes it difficult to appreciate.
