Wait!!! It appears that some reviewers may have received different perfume concentrations, as this scent is so bright and citrusy with a powdery violet and dragon fruit note - I'm having trouble describing it, but it's reminiscent of a watery, mealy kiwi flavor. I don't detect any soup or Italian seasoning, instead, I'm greeted by a dominant lemony aroma. The overall impression is delightful, with zesty, sweet, and refreshing qualities.
I am thoroughly enjoying this fragrance amidst the sweltering heat! The comments suggesting a strong basil, herby, and food-like quality completely elude me - I don't pick up on the black licorice/darkness notes either. Perhaps that's where the hay and vetiver come in? On my skin, the basil takes on a creamy and aromatic quality, which may sound peculiar but feels distinct to me. This perfume radiates a sunny warmth, reminiscent of green fig and basil left to dry in the sun.
This perfume embodies the essence of a sun-kissed Italian summer in a bottle. The basil and fig notes are expertly blended to evoke a fresh, green scent that instantly transports me to a warm day by the pool, surrounded by the gentle aroma of basil and fig trees, with the grass baking under the intense summer heat. Meanwhile, subtle hints of white wine and tomatoes add depth to the fragrance, which remains remarkably clean and radiant throughout its wear. While maintaining a sparkling, feminine edge, this perfume surprisingly works well as an unisex scent for the summer season, outshining Philosykos' more literal fig approach in my opinion - it's truly love at first sniff!
It initially presents with a soapy quality before evolving into a remarkably invigorating aroma reminiscent of Acqua di Parma's Fico di Amalfi. While there isn't much dynamic range - the crisp green notes remain relatively consistent throughout - it does boast decent longevity and projection for a citrus fragrance, lingering on fabrics indefinitely. Although I wouldn't splurge on a full bottle due to more budget-friendly options serving similar purposes, I struggle to identify any major flaws in this elegant, carefree scent that captures the essence of a refreshing summer day.
I adore the scent of this perfume, the basil note is particularly remarkable - it's incredibly fresh! However, for me, the performance doesn't quite match its luxurious price point. The longevity and projection aren't impressive enough to warrant the cost, as I find myself unable to detect any fragrance after 2 hours. 😐
