In my collection, this is the one that gets the most compliments. I also have the EDP, though. The women at work prefer the EDT, though. I often layer it with Bitter Peach when I want a different twist. It’s almost gone down to 30%, so I’m going to get another bottle soon. It lasts around nine hours on my skin. After that, the scent projects for about five hours at arm's length.
The Black Orchid scent that's perfect for women has been discontinued. It’s likely to soar in value in the coming years.
I have both the EDP and the EDT version on hand. While I don't think it's essential to own both, there's something about the EDT that I prefer over the EDP. It has a different character—brighter and lighter than the EDP, likely due to the bergamot and ylang-ylang. The scent is bold, complex, and has this intense presence. However, it leans toward dried fruitiness rather than fresh notes, with the ylang-ylang really standing out from the beginning to the end. The base is similar but not as strong as in the EDP. It's still a beast, just not as commanding as the EDP, and has a slightly more feminine edge while still being unisex. I find it easier to wear, so I usually put it on in the evening when I'm going out. Update: A guy rarely compliments one’s perfume, but he said BO smelled amazing on me and asked for the name of the fragrance. This scent is divisive (although less than the EDP), but I really think it's a masterpiece of perfumery.
Comforting warmth! It was raining today, and I wore this scent. The scent captured the essence of the rainy day. It has a smoky tobacco vibe (not listed in the notes), along with hints of incense, sweet vetiver, bitter chocolate, patchouli, and a heap of spices. No floral or fruity notes to speak of. If you’ve been burning those Yankee fall candles all day, you’d probably get the reference immediately. I love how my home smells during autumn and winter—it’s just stunning, though I wouldn’t wear it on myself.
I’ve owned both the EdP and EdT versions and feel like swapping them away because the tuber note is too much for me. The scent itself is amazing to me, though I find the tuber note a bit overwhelming on my skin. The EdT version has the same quality, if not better, and it doesn’t feel as heavy on my skin. It’s not as creamy or vanilla-forward, which I appreciate. The tuber note is still present but somehow feels less overwhelming. There's a fruitiness that gives it a green banana vibe when it wafts up from my wrists. I absolutely love that banana-like quality, whether intentional or not. This alone might make me consider picking up a bottle. It’s definitely my perfect take on Black Orchid!
