The more I wear this perfume, the more I appreciate its nuances.
This fragrance exudes a richly velvety and smooth aroma, making it the standout iris scent in my opinion. Unlike other iris perfumes that can be earthy or dusty, this one is creamy and exceptionally well-balanced, evoking a sense of romance while still being powerful. In comparison to Bois d'Argent, I find this one superior. The longevity is impressive, lasting throughout the day, and the sillage is moderate, making it perfect for everyday wear. Overall, this fragrance holds a special place in my heart due to its unforgettable scent.
I have to admit that I'm intrigued by the note profile of this perfume - to me, it has the essence of a luxurious lipstick; softly sweet iris combines with a clean woodsy aroma. I don't detect any other nuances. It's a truly delightful fragrance, very versatile and would make an excellent personal signature.
Here is the rewritten comment in a communication speaking tone with emojis: 📝 I've got a 2015 batch of Bois d'Iris (approx 55ml left) and it's a steal at USD 49! 💸 The Iris interpretation here is truly unique - it surprised me, yet it's also stunning. 🤯 It's not like other masculine perfumes like Dior Homme or Prada L'Homme; this one has a smooth, buttery Iris that sits perfectly with Vanilla on top. 🍰 As the scent unfolds, you'll notice Sugar (in a mild caramelized manner) and Sea salt making an appearance. 💦 I think the refined sea salt note might be thanks to authentic Ambergris, which my skin enhances beautifully. 🔥 The heart of the fragrance is where things get interesting - Iris-Vanilla-Salt still lingers, but with added depth from Incense, Myrrh, and Amber. It's deep and sensational, staying around for a while. ⏰ As we reach the base, Vetiver makes an appearance, bringing a dry, hay-like quality similar to Jo Malone's Golden Vanilla & Vetiver. However, this one smooths out the edges, unlike its counterpart. 🌳 The soap accord builds up towards the end, reminiscent of Prada Iris d' Cedar. It leaves you feeling fresh and clean, with Labdanum providing a soft, human touch that softens everything. 💆♀️ While the twist is interesting, it becomes more typical Iris as it dries down, leaving me craving a bit more. The scent feels a tad thin, but I'd love to experience it in a denser form. 🤔 Projection starts moderate-low and becomes intimate after 2-3 hours. While not as close to the skin as Dioramor, the longevity is impressive (6-7 hours) and enhances my natural scent beautifully. 💕 For the unique experience and twist provided, I'd rate this 10/10. However, in real-life usage, it's more of an 8/10 for me. 👀 By the way, I classify this perfume as Unisex (55% Homme / 45% Femme), with a bit more leaning towards Homme due to the wood's bitter quality that suits men. 🤝
It was an all-consuming passion at first, but over time my affection has cooled to mere fondness. While the fragrance remains captivating on my skin, its longevity leaves much to be desired.
