Crunchy lettuce. Decent staying power.
This isn’t a simple, straightforward, crowd pleasing fragrance. Even the citrus opening is not quite what I expected. The bergamot and orange are overshadow quickly by the neroli, cipriol oil and olibanum giving a sort of waxy, rubbery quality, even a tad fishy. But surely the magistral touch of Carlos Benaim appears and slowly a more comforting, velvety facet appears propelling the whole fragrance to a new level. Now it feels masculine, smooth, classy and modern. Not a blind buy, not a casual wear scent a la CK but still a solid fragrance to keep in mind.
Do not blind buy this.
I can see that the British website Allbeauty.com is up to no good by increasing their prices significantly on many of their scents in the few days before Black Friday, and then offering spurious "bargain" discounts :(
Dunhill Century This review is from a Dunhill fanboy. I didn't like the "blue box" Century but the "black box" is just right for me in so many ways. It has a bright and cheerful open of Grapefruit, Mandarin, and Bergamot. Middle notes contain my favorite spice Cardamom with depth added by Olibanum which is nice resin. Base seems to be a great sandalwood of exceptional quality coupled with ancient papyrus or cypriol. It lasts, stays bright and really tickles all the nose buttons for me. at least. Not many scents keep me looking forward to them. This is just wonderful
