Reviews

Ciel is a most refreshing, airy, and invigorating scent, reminiscent of spending a warm spring or summer day outdoors under the bright blue sky.

Mostly what I detect are the water lily accords, alongside cyclamen, violet leaves, musk, and sandalwood notes, which remind me of Dia. To my mind, it's a straightforward and unremarkable scent, particularly considering its cost.

This perfume has a whisper-light quality to it, reminiscent of puffy white clouds drifting across a serene blue sky. The gardenia note stands out most prominently, but it's tempered by a soft, creamy musk that gives the scent a gentle, airy feel. Surrounding this floral core are subtle, dewy notes that add depth without overpowering the overall effect. What sets this Amouage apart from others I've tried is its understated nature - it's surprisingly shy and unassuming.

Ditta70 has a favorable review preceding mine, yet I'm uncertain about the formulation I possess, as my sample was carded and potentially from either UK or Oman. Nevertheless, this perfume embodies rose, lily-aquatic, and a quality I'd associate with "lilac," despite the latter being notoriously challenging to distill. This light, summery aquatic scent aptly deserves its moniker "Ciel." While I don't find it captivating, it's not unappealing; however, it doesn't resonate with my personal taste nor align with my expectations of Amouage, which typically revolves around rose-oud-amber combinations. This fragrance successfully breaks free from those conventions by incorporating an airy, open quality reminiscent of the sky. It boasts good silage and longevity, outperforming other Amouage perfumes in these regards. I believe this scent will appeal to those with modern tastes and a sense of femininity, presenting a clean and pleasant aura. While it may not be exceptional or distinctive, it is still a pleasant addition to the genre, surpassing many mainstream fragrances. Those who appreciate lilac scents will likely find this fragrance more pronounced than Amouage's recent release, at least in my opinion.
