I'm enamored with this scent not solely due to its captivating aroma, but rather because of the unwavering confidence it exudes. The warm spices I adore are masterfully contained within an aldehydic framework that provides a sense of security and tranquility. This perfume has become a haven for me, offering a respite from the chaos. Alberto Morillas expertly tames the soapy aspects of aldehyde, transforming them into something harmonious. While some ingredients may seem familiar, they're distinct enough to remain special. For me, this is what Jungle had promised and delivered. However, it's in its elegant progression to the dry down that Dali truly shines, evoking memories of Youth-Dew Bath Oil with its rounded, grand presence. The contrast between fresh, squeaky notes and a subtle dirtiness is nothing short of stunning, akin to a cheeky grin peeking from behind a veil, teetering on naughtiness.
I breathed in deeply and felt pure contentment wash over me upon spritzing this perfume. To me, its 80s faux bourgeoisie quality is quite appealing. While it may seem that time won't be kind to this scent, I'm pleased to report that it evolves in a sophisticated manner. The opening notes, which I perceive as narcissus and green on my skin, are particularly enjoyable. In the drydown, I experience warm, powdery, benzoinic, vanillic sensations that bring me great joy! Unfortunately, I have the EDT, but I would love to get my hands on the EDP, as it tends to work better for me and doesn't disappear too quickly. The packaging is also a surreal treat, and I'm glad to have it displayed for guests to admire. While this perfume falls short in terms of projection and longevity on my skin, considering its price, I'll take what I can get.
At the opening, this perfume presents itself as a luxurious soap, reminiscent of high-end products found in upscale stores. While I'm unsure if the aldehydes or balsamics are responsible for this effect, it's undeniable that the scent is both powdery and soapy, yet surprisingly complex. This niche fragrance leaves you feeling refreshingly clean, with its potency striking a perfect balance between strength and subtlety - a little goes a long way to achieve the desired level of freshness without overpowering. In the drydown, the soapiness takes on a slightly more pedestrian quality, but it's still an enjoyable progression.
This scent unfolds like a meticulously arranged floral arrangement in a stately French chateau, where time stands still in the warmth of a late afternoon sunbeam casting shadows on dusty antique treasures, exuding an aura of timeless elegance.
This scent feels eerily familiar, taking a few minutes to jog my memory. Then it hit me - this perfume smells uncannily like old-school soap from brands like Palmolive or Lux. It's a soapy floral with a whiff of Old Spice 80s aftershave. The nostalgic aroma instantly transports me back to my childhood and the memories of my parents. I'm confident many of you have caught a whiff of this scent before. While it's potent and might be slightly jarring at first, its comforting familiarity makes it hard to resist. And for the quality, it's an absolute steal!
