This is a very interesting fragrance. When first applied to my skin I'm instantly hit by a slightly marine/mineral smell, which I'm guessing comes from the clay note. This quickly develops into a fresh green slightly herbaceous floral. The clover makes for a very novel bouquet, which I love. After a few hours it warms down to a slightly muskier, yet still fresh skin scent. Spring is only just starting to creep into my part of the world right now, but I imagine this could be a lovely cooling summer scent. I'm not a big wearer of green or aquatic fragrances, so I don't think I'll be purchasing a bottle of this, but I'm very glad I tried it.

People are correct about Eau d'Italie's similarity with Loewe's Paula's Ibiza. Paula's Ibiza opens up very differently with tropical notes, but both fragrances ultimately end up in exactly the same place after about the half-hour point. If you're not interested in those opening tropical notes and want something more straightforward, then Eau d'Italie is the way to go. Both perfumes are very pretty and classy and subtly exotic, but Paula's Ibiza is more of a party in the opening, and that's literally the only difference, despite any attempts by their respective companies to make them seem different somehow. Having both is an obvious redundancy. Edit: I need to amend this a little. It's pretty clear to me that they reformulated Eau d'Italie, perhaps when they did the rebranding. The old Duchaufour version is the one that's nearly identical to Paula's Ibiza in the drydown. The new version is not as sweet or harmonious. It's sharper, and clearly has a lot of patchouli in it. It's not terrible, but it's not as elegant as it was. Alas, this is the perfume market, after all. So, I'd recommend either finding an old bottle of Eau d'Italie with the large green letter style, or just get Paula's Ibiza. The latter's tropical thing ends quickly.

Bois D' Ombrie reminds of Mom's beautiful tomatoes she grew in our hometown Dana Point yard...she comes in scented with the "jungle-vines" & fresh tomato juice..."green ness" staining her hands before she washed off the magic...fond memory... Then the sea, salt & slight roses enter yet most prominent on me are the fresh green and red of "tomato jungle" and this lovely "I'm on vacation air" explodes through moving me from garden to vacation... Yes to the minerals, herbs, forest, clay, yet prominent are the waves crashing on the cliffs below and the mist rising up into the sunlit air, filling the lobby of the Le Sirenuse Hotel...and the scent of this candle burning throughout the open air blue sea background lobby...

No doubt reviewing a perfume will always be a subjective matter. Tastes and noses a so different, and that is present in every review I read. At the end, just follow your nose. Remember, every reviewer opinion is their opinion. Eau D’Italie is for me, a beautiful scent. It is harmony in a bottle, summer in a bottle, literally. You wake up in the morning and take a shower, sun is shining, your get your coffee or tea ready, some fruit and some bread. Then you get out and sit outside your backyard, ready to enjoy your breakfast. Suddenly you realized that something is missing. You rush to your room, and spray Eau D’Italie on you. Then, back to your breakfast and chair. The smell complete the experience. Harmony and summer are there.

Clay that gets mudded by trying to add sweet.
