The fragrance is overpoweringly masculine and reminiscent of stale cigarettes. Unfortunately, it has not resonated with me, as none of the Nishane scents have thus far impressed me.
To my sense, Fan Your Flames is a scent that blends fruity and leather notes, with sweet and amber undertones. I detect mild coconut nuances alongside other fruity accents. Initially, I don't perceive the rum, but it quickly develops a boozy quality. The tobacco note manifests as smoke rather than a distinct tobacco aroma. For me, however, this fragrance features a prominent leathery accord that isn't my cup of tea. Notably, I appreciate how the coconut is employed here, as it's often overpowered in other perfumes, giving off a sunblock-like quality. In contrast, Fan Your Flames' coconut is more subtle and harmonious with the other notes, evoking a "coconut cocktail" atmosphere without being too cloying. As this fragrance dries down, I notice similarities to Jazz Club and The Blazing Mr Sam. While it's less smoky than Jazz Club, making it easier to wear for me, it's also less spicy than The Blazing Mr Sam and more leathery overall. In conclusion, while I don't dislike Fan Your Flames, I'm not enthusiastic about it either; it's a pleasant scent, but one that doesn't leave me eager for more.
I haven't encountered another reviewer mentioning this scent has a similar profile to Amouage Interlude, but the intricate composition and robust character are undeniable. While it may not resonate with me personally, I can appreciate its complexity and recommend it to those who enjoy prominent tobacco or coconut notes in their fragrances.
