Geranium Pour Monsieur

I initially tested this fragrance during an unusually warm July day with temperatures reaching 35C, and I must admit that it didn't quite impress me back then. However, after gifting it to a friend the same day I purchased it, I revisited the scent yesterday at the store when autumn arrived, and my opinion changed dramatically.

I have only fleeting thoughts on Geranium Pour Monsieur. It's a harmonious blend of opposing sensations: a refreshing - almost ecstatic - mint and geranium wrapped snugly by the gentle warmth of clove and musk in a smooth progression, reminiscent of a cozy body temperature amidst an air-conditioned environment. Invigorating, soothing, reassuring, and calming. Ideal for warm evenings and leisurely mornings. A truly exceptional fragrance.

This perfume reminds me of a sweet and playful treat 🎁

In the beginning, a sudden rush of mint is noticeable. Shortly after, a harmonious blend of mint and geranium emerges on a subtle foundation of musk, soap, and wood notes, with an air of freshness and ozonic quality. The geranium aspect is particularly distinctive, evoking the essence of ambroxan, carrot, and rose, with a strong vegetal and plant-like character. After two sprays, the scent exhibits moderate projection for about 2-3 hours before settling into a subtle skin scent. While it has an appealing aroma, the fragrance remains relatively linear in its development.

I was hesitant to make an online purchase due to mixed reviews here. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to visit Barneys in NYC last week and get a whiff of this perfume. It instantly won me over, and I left with a bottle. I believe this is one of Malle's standout perfumes. Unlike some of his other creations, it doesn't rely on musk for its charm, but instead offers a crisp, clean scent. Although I enjoyed every aspect of it, after wearing it for approximately six hours, the fragrance had softened into an exquisite beauty. Those who haven't tried a Malle perfume before may find it pricey, but the quality and sophistication it provides are unparalleled in commercial colognes and perfumes.
