I had to grab a 2ml due to its immense popularity, and I was thrilled with the initial 20-30 minutes of top and middle notes - quite distinct and definitely noticeable! 🌴 The mango is stronger and more tart than what I'm accustomed to, balanced by the ginger. It felt like a gourmand scent during those first 20 minutes, but not overly sweet. The base notes on my skin transformed into a subtle 'leather' aroma that lingered all day.
A disappointing blind purchase for me, as it's just not my cup of tea. While the packaging is lovely, the fragrance itself didn't resonate with me. I'm more than happy to pass this along to someone who might appreciate it; interested buyers can reach out for details and pricing.
I'm perplexed by the reviewers who claim this perfume smells like decaying mango. I've been indulging in organic dried mango with no added sugar, which has a tender texture. God Of Fragrance (GOF) perfectly captures that sweet and juicy mango aroma. Mango shouldn't be overly green or overpoweringly sweet; instead, it should strike a balance. I tried samples of Mango Skin and Mango Kiss, but they didn't come close to GOF's authentic mango scent. The note persists throughout the perfume's longevity, blending seamlessly with the base notes. The more I wear this, the more I appreciate its nuances. Although I wish it came in a larger bottle at a better price, its exceptional quality makes it worth splurging on – I've already ordered a backup and can foresee needing another one soon.
This perfume is underwhelming for me, falling short of expectations. It lacks distinctiveness and instead evokes familiar notes found in non-mango scents. The mango itself is not particularly impressive either. Comparatively, Xerjoff Cruz Del Sur II impresses far more, making it stand out from this mediocre offering. I was seeking a unique take on the mango theme with woody or spicy elements, but this perfume fails to deliver. It neither ventures into tropical or gourmand territory nor offers anything innovative.
This perfume is fascinating. Initially, I was thoroughly captivated by its scent, almost persuaded to purchase a full bottle on the spot. Fortunately, my fatigue got the better of me, allowing me to sleep off the momentary enthusiasm. Upon waking, I re-experienced the fragrance and lingered with it for about an hour, only to be overcome by scent exhaustion. This is unprecedented for me with any perfume. While sitting on my couch with my dog nearby, I kept getting unpleasant whiffs of baby food and urine that were so strong, I genuinely suspected she had accidentally relieved herself. Later, the fragrance was quite pleasant when brought to my nose. However, it then suddenly became overwhelming and almost unbearable, prompting me to yearn for relief from its lingering presence.
