To me, this is the single offering from Commodity that smells anything like actual paper or an actual book. It shares the same thin vanilla and wood base as the Gold Expressive, but with the dry woodiness amped up. There's an almost leathery saffron note here, which makes it smell even more like an actual book to me. This stays very dry and not sweet from start to finish, which I think is why some people find this more masculine.

I've got the Gold+ or Expressive, but it's like a skin scent. I've sprayed and sprayed and I can just get a hint of pretty vanilla, woods, etc, but for ne this is pointless, I can't smell it. It seems vaguely similar to Spiritueous Double Vanille or Alexandra Short or Kayali Vanilla, that sort of not too sweet spicy type vanilla, maybe? From what little I can smell

Super woodsy and kind of sweet to my nose.... like a 70:30 ratio. Not bad, I really like it. Maybe if I didn't own By the Fireplace and mixbar vanilla bourbon I'd get it, but I don't feel the need to have more than one fragrance that smells like this... it's almost like if those 2 perfumes had a baby, this would be it.

The leather smell really dominates this one to me. It strayed pretty far from the basic Gold. Maybe if you like leather scents you would enjoy this one.

honestly, this really disappointed me. i adore gold expressive; however, its projection is kinda shitty, so i was hoping the bold version would deliver so i could justify the price of a whole bottle. bold is NOTHING like expressive. there isn’t any freshness in the bold and it’s too masculine for my taste. it’s a nice smell and not too patchouli heavy, but it’s sad because i was expecting something else and it just didn’t deliver.
