Oh...where do I start? the color of this scent is so dark and enticing...you know it has to be a potent beast just by looking at it. Then you apply it, and the first blast of the scent...makes your eyes tear! this is sooo freaking strong... Then you start to understand this is a dense smoky, intense, mossy amber scent. It is soo smoky, like a camp fire. It is like a forest, the labdanum and birch tar are the main notes here...it becomes a little bit more comfortable in the drydown...it has a rare beauty, this is not something you would find everywhere. I think I can appreciate the beauty and art of this scent but there is no way I can commit and buy a full bottle because I don't see how I could regularly wear this. I will use all of my sample! I would love to smell this on other people to see how it works from a distant.
Blasts of tangy bergamot leads into sulfuric leather and woods, very strong, smokey, and intense. Touches of honeyed florals peek in during the scent's life, lasts for ages. Very niche, very experimental, best in cold weather.
I respect the heck out of this! It starts salty on me like a BBQ in the park at the beach. Crazy smoky. Lots of oily resins. After it dries, it becomes more wearable on me. Smokey birch tar campfire. It doesn't overpower me because I just use one spray when I test it out, otherwise it might be lethal. It's heady too. It would be great to wear while hiking. -
Starts out a massive smokey bonfire fragrance but then sweetens up as it dries down to a lovely, long-lasting labdanum incense fragrance. And it is very honeyed and beeswaxy. Oh, how I love you.
Wearing Hyde today, and its quite a ride. I dont like birch tar, but here it is done very well. Dense smoky, warm with touch of raw flesh. There is definitely quality labdanum, muskiness is present. Its semi sweet with piercing animal smell. When inhaling deeply, something cherry like appears. It walks borderline of amazing and stink. Longevity is great, silage is great, and i would go as far as to say that if War and Peace is for a man, Hyde is a scent to match that mans badass woman.
