Reviews

A standout in the classical realm, which I consider the epitome of perfume excellence. Its robust scent is incredibly opulent and refined, reminiscent of iconic fragrances like Shalimar. If you appreciate bold perfumes, this is an excellent choice, and its stunning packaging only adds to its allure.

So many other perfumes out there are better! Despite my reservations about blind buying, I decided to order it due to the positive reviews from certain YouTubers and comments on this platform that I couldn't relate to. Additionally, I couldn't sample it beforehand. I didn't notice any specific fruits or flowers in the scent, nor did I detect jasmine, lily, iris, or coconut - all of which I would have been interested in smelling. For a brief moment, I thought I caught a hint of "watery pineapple" but could be mistaken. Alternatively, it might just be my imagination trying to make sense of something that isn't there. If I had to force the Laguna holiday narrative, it smells like chlorine at the pool or air freshener and then one of my mom's strong cinnamon and/or woody perfumes from when I was younger. I think my mom would actually enjoy this scent... (I'm not a fan of heavily spicy and woody scents - ugh!) but this perfume doesn't evoke a beachy or holiday feeling at all. It's just marketing! On the other hand, I prefer it on my partner; he can pull off any fragrance due to his versatile taste. I'll update my review if I wear it again. I might also try it in fall and winter, but only if I don't give it to my mom first. Wearing it in this sweltering heat is out of the question for me.

Goldenfire5 hit the mark with her thoughtful review, as Laguna is indeed a vacation fragrance that resonates deeply with my own preferences as a fan of Hypnotic Poison. The perfume masterfully blends creamy vanilla, subtle coconut flesh, citrus notes, clean musk, and a hint of beach sand to evoke the essence of summer.

I was on the hunt for a distinctive scent, so when I stumbled upon this fragrance and read numerous reviews describing it as "unique", "unusual", and even "weird" 🤔, I was hooked! I took the plunge and blind bought it, along with Gres Cabotine, to compare the two. Upon receiving my package, I was thrilled with Laguna's elegant bottle 💕. However, when I spritzed both on my hands – Laguna on one hand and Gres Cabotine on the other – I was surprised to find that Gres Cabotine stood out more to me 🤯. Laguna has a soft, creamy aroma, whereas Gres Cabotine is sharper and greener with impressive longevity and projection 👀. Perhaps I need to give Laguna some time to settle into my skin chemistry 💆‍♀️. For now, I'm favoring Gres Cabotine over Laguna 😊.

This perfume falls short in its citrus note for me.
