In the same line of Le Beau, but creamier, richer and more complex. I detect coconut, although it's not listed. Longevity is above average. A great release!

I know that there are a lot of haters on Fragrantica. But come on. This is really well blended. It is also unbelievable powerfull. Afters 6 hours still projecting. This is not overly sweet and maybe not for the younger crowd. Maybe that's the reason for hate. I think this works really great for 30 and above and you love that JPG Male dna. This is the best choice for 30+ out of al the Male flankers at the moment. Only the bottle design doesn't match te scent profile very well.

Why all the hate? Are people just salty that JPG got two spots on the 2023 top three male perfumes of the year? Or because Jean Paul is gay himself? People who can't just use their noses to give their opinion on how a perfume smells like should not be using this website, seriously, what are you guys, 12 years old? Anyways, the perfume has just the right amount of sweetness for me, not too much but not too little. If I had to compare this to a fragrance, I would say it's a lighter more fresher version of Gaultier^2, that's the sort of scent profile I'm getting out of this, and strangely enough, I'm picking up a couple hints of Phlur Missing Person. Overall, I love the opening, I love the dry down, this is the kind of scent profile I am familiar with, and therefore, I like it a lot. 9/10 Edit: For context, when the fragrance is announced, people are allowed to vote when the fragrance isn't even out to the public yet, when it's not even in the hands of anybody, and if you have some decency, you don't vote if you haven't smelled it, however trolls ruin the polls for the ones that actually want to know what this smells like, and for those trying to give out their honest opinion. I found a way to get my hands on a bottle of this stuff before it becomes available in the US, so I am giving my opinion for those who want to know what to expect, and what this smells like.

Fascinating to read these comments, I won’t call them reviews. I found this online recently. The presentation is great. I thought that Gaultier had lost its way with a lot of unexciting releases (In the Navy, Aviator etc. and even these have many fans), but they seem to have realised that whatever they were doing, it wasn’t making great or even crowd pleasing fragrances. Elixir was the first JPG in a long time that I liked enough to buy, then Le Beau Paradise Garden came along, and now Le Male Lover. It’s supposed to be a limited edition so I grabbed it. This is vanilla plus spice, which pleases me but may not please everyone. It’s inoffensive enough that if you spray lightly it could be a daily wear, except perhaps in summer when it’s better suited to those long lazy evenings, it oozes relaxed casual vibes. For me it slips between the rather heavy Elixir and the light summery Paradise Garden, and I can’t believe I’ve bought three Gaultier’s in a relatively short time. Add the Scandal Homme given to me by a girl I know and I’m drowning in JPG. If you like Gaultier, try it or buy it. I can’t see that you’ll be disappointed, and if you are, wait for it to be discontinued and suddenly everyone will want a bottle.

I never thought this would be my favorite release thus far in 2024. Everything else so far is just kinda meh.
