Reviews

This is a classy, very French, a bit Chanel-esque feminine and elegant fragrance in the lines of Coco Mademoiselle and modern Miss Dior as parchouli is the dominant base but the juicy pineapple and fresh spiciness save it from being a dupe of any of those. It is beautiful, the most beautiful and well balanced fragrance in this pricerange that I came accross in the last years. Highly recommended.

A *very* sweet floral. I don't get any of the patch, sandalwood, or cardamom, so I find it hard to classify this as an oriental. Be warned: That leather note, which seems so promising in the pyramid, does not show up until the dry down! The opening accord is caramelized sugar, canned pineapple in sugar syrup, thick vanilla syrup, with just a touch of magnolia. At this point, I thought M. Gres was a complete fail. The leather is needed to ground the scent, and the dryness of cardamom would be appreciated. The grapefruit would be a godsend! There is no heart that I detect- or the heart is identical to the opening. On the dry down, if you survive the diabetic coma, the leather appears...ever so faintly. I really want to like this, but it needs a far more powerful base to work for me. I'm going to see if I can't find a leather monotheme that I can pair with M. Gres. M. Gres is fun, light hearted, playful. But the base is insufficient, and without it, for me this scent is like a bright yellow helium balloon, bouncing around, hitting you in the face with that opening accord, and then just bouncing against the ceiling over and over and over again, with nothing to bring it back down. Long lasting, good sillage, but waaaay too sweet, and lacking balance. Similar to Scherrer's Immense, but not as well balanced, and therefore not as interesting.

Madam Gres edp By Gres: Firstly I've Yet To Find A Gres Perfume That I Don't Really Like,& The Quality Of Gres Perfumes Really Amazes Me & Madam Gres Is Yet Another That I Really Do Like/Love!! This Really Is Such A Beautiful Classy French Perfume,That's Blended Extremely Well,Wear's Absolutely Beautiful On Your Skin & Really Lasts On Your Skin From Morning Till Last Thing At Night!! I Was Bought This For Christmas & Have Now Wore This Quite A Good Few Times & I've Always Received The Nicest Compliments Even From Stranger's Saying "Gosh What Is That Stunning Perfume Your Wearing"!! To Me Anyway,This Is A Very Mature,Classy Type Perfume More Suited To A Mature Lady/Woman,& As Someone Else Has Said "The Wise French Auntie"!! Wore When You Need That Extra Boost Of Confidence,Or You Simply Want To Be Refined & Elegant etc!! This Perfume Is All Those Thing's!! The Perfume Starts With The Most Beautiful Fruity Aroma Of Grapefruit & Then Pineapple Joins In!! It Does Kinda Reminds Me A Bit Of Diors "Miss Dior" In The Beginning But I Find Madam Gres To Be More Nicer & A Lot Cheaper Than Dior!! Yes This Perfume Starts Of Sweet But Certainly Not Headache Cloying In Anyway,+ The Longer It's Actually On Your Skin The Nicer & Nicer It Gets!! The Woodyness Is So Well Blended With The Stunning Patchouli It Just Makes Me Smile & Deffo Feel Good Factor!! The Minimalistic Design Of The Bottle "1940s Gres Style" To The Beautiful Apricot Colour Juice Contained Inside It!! & The Best Feature Is The Price It's Sold For On "Allbeauty.com"!! I Deffo Will Be Buying Another Bottle To Leave Away As It Really Is That Good!! Pure Class In A Bottle Without A Doubt!!

This was a blind buy for me. I must admit, I was smitten with the design of the bottle, which, along with it having pineapple as one of the top notes, prompted my purchase. This is my first time buying from this perfume house so I didn't know what to expect. Upon first sniff I liked it. However, as time progressed, I kept getting assaulted by the sweet pineapple, which took a while to dissipate. I was looking forward to the dry down with it's sandalwood and leather notes, but they never came forth on my skin. It went from overbearing pineapple to vanilla. Update: I had to part with this perfume. The more I smelled it, the more nauseated I felt. I have no regrets about ditching it.

Beautiful. Reminds me of Miss Dior, and also Chanel Allure. The Patchouli is dominant. Smooth, bold, sweet, round, Nice, wonderful. But sadly I react to Patchouli, allergic. Longlived on my skin. Try it, often you can find Gres to supernice prize. Smells expensive.
