Molecule 01 + Patchouli

I had low expectations due to the other Molecules I've tried. (3 or 4 in all) This however impressed me greatly. I just bought Mazzolari Patchouli so I did not need to fall for another one! This one is very much patchouli and cedarwood. I didn't get any amber, which I'm thankful for. Unlike the other Molecule fragrances, I could smell this from the start, and the entire time I wore it. What I don't get: any hidden oud, smokiness, cumin or any other wood except cedar. It is not camphorous to me either as I have several patchoulies that DO have camphorous notes that I love. The longevity is amazing! I got 12+ hours with one or two sprays on top of my hand, that lasted through 6-8 handwashes. It's going on my buy list.

I own so many fragrances, this is the most one I been asked about, amazing 100/10 Note: you have to like patchouli Tip: never buy 1 or 2, always buy from the plus line 💕

For me, this goes on with woody patchouli and a nice clip of Iso E Super, but dries very rapidly to a faint, very sheer plain single-note wood. I can barely detect it. Possibly my nose is becoming anosmic to it in those five minutes, but I wouldn’t spend money on something with so little scent or life. I don’t mind reapplying; some of my favs are short-lived, but literally five minutes of scent life isn’t good enough for even me. I DO detect a sort of mildew edge, that is patchouli at its weakest whimpering. I do suspect there is real patchouli in here, but it’s been so deballed that you can’t really dignify this with the name. I don’t love patchouli myself (this was a free sample) but for those who come here looking for it, this might be a waste of your time, if your skin hates this fragrance as much as mine seems to.

I think I’m a fan. I think. This isn’t really an attention catching, room filling, people luring fragrance, but rather a delicate aura of scent. Not that it’s weak, it’s just that it’s scent is more of atmospheric haze. It’s a warm woody cashmere, rubbed with a leaf of fuzzy patchouli. A beige cashmere cardigan laced with olive green streaks of thread, by a warm fire in a Scandinavian wood cabin. No smoke or spice, just clean, patchouli laced warmth. And a drop of soap. But just a drop. Of a really nice expensive soap. A pleasant warm knit of clean, fuzzy patchouli in the winter. Nearly undetectable in the summer.

Not as lovely as the original Molecule 01, the patchouli here kind of turns it to a playdough smell on my skin, but the atmospheric scent around me still smells very nice, like Molecule 01 with a bit of sparkle. I have a bottle of the original though, and don’t really see the need for both.
