Reviews

very nice old fashioned fragrance. montana parfum d homme is a classic 80's scent not so easy to wear nowadays but with a great quality inside. the notes more prominent on my skin are leather, oakmoss, aldehydes and patchuli. i cant smell any tobacco here but it's only my opinion. the leather on me is quite strong, more similar to the one in valentino vendetta, which i consider more juicy and seductive but a bit dated too. the oakmoss is also very detectable. it's a warm cozy scent, like a coat in november, perfect for autumn and winter. performance is very good, projects well and the longevity is almost 7-8 hours. it's not for young people, fits better for someone over 40. which movie or tv character it reminds me? well, someone old school yet ironic, like lt. Frank Columbo played by the great Peter Falk. the review is based on a vintage bottle, i heard it has been reformulated by selective beauties or another company, cant remember. however, it seems the reformulated version is good too but i never tested it so far. gemma dal passato. scent-8 long-8 sillage-8 versatility-6,5 bottle-7,5 uniqueness-8 compliment factor- 5,5 my vote-8 in one word-coat

It smells a bit like Drakkar to me- Will see if it has staying power...

aromatic citruses give way to spicy leather/ tobacco same wave lenght of Quorum or say Polo green but less intrusive, same time capsule.... but if looking for a trip in the golden ages of old school scents this is one way to go..... soothing and relaxing, i love it to get back and groove on a summer evening!

Right, I was thinking about getting Oscar dela Renta Lui, but I noticed this one on sale, checking the notes, they are almost the same but Montana seems better rated somehow, I thought why not, I do like the lavender, carnation and cinnamon, incense mix, this sounds aromatic, spicey. I already have others with similar in composition, Gres Cabochard, and Aramis, I need something a little different. Leather is always sexy and masculine, it would be nice to smell the lavender, carnation, incense and cinnamon together, that pine note stands out too. I am thinking the Havana comparison is due to the incense perhaps, which according to reviews should be higher voted in the pyramid.

Wearing this side-by-side with Aramis Havana today. I would say Montana is smoother and seems very well blended. With Havana, the patchouli and perhaps tobacco are much more prominent. Both fragrances are quite nice and masculine. Of the two, I would say Montana is less likely to be offensive. Personally, I also don't think these two fragrances are so much alike that it would be redundant to have them both. However, I have a full size of Montana and will happily stick with it.
