Sharp and pungent right off the bat. Animalic notes always announce themselves very loudly on my skin, and this skunky this hyrax note is no different. It quiets down into a dirty smokey sweet amber, with crumpled tobacco leaves, sticky reinous benzoin, prickly green celery and ambrette seeds, and cedar and patchouli to fill in the gaps. As time goes on it continues to lift into a lighter and sweeter honey amber. This combo of animalic resinous amber reminds me of Nanban by Arquiste. Montecristo feels deeper and darker with tobacco and an almost dirty oud woodiness, whereas Nanban is overall softer and spicier with pepper and myrhh.

a master piece anyway but not too strong as the beginning.. very oriental but alot of urine (hyraceum) i love it and i appreciate it thank you masque milano

Mmm. One of the most subtle and smooth, hyrax scents I have smelled. Animalics are one of my things so I am constantly blind buying them to try and find the perfect one. This is in no way a "pissy" animalic to my nose- but that always seems to depend on the skin and the nose. This one is certainly perfect for someone who likes those top few notes in the rating scale- but not for me. I really like it as a scent but I don't find myself wanting to wear it. That said, it IS nice and blended wonderfully. Smooth- not harsh. A skin scent on me. I don't think it wildly projects. I get the same sort of musky tobacco as Aramis Tobacco Reserve if you're familiar.

I recently bought a sample of this one to try. It is a very interesting scent. I don't know how to describe it other that very raw, animalistic and furry. This one is not for the faint of heart. If you like clean / fresh scents this one is not for you. Overall it is not a bad scent, but I had a headache all day after putting this one on me. So I will have to try this one again.
