Nice, but very similar to BR540.

This did remind me of BR540 which was a bit of a let down at first - since to the best of my knowledge BR540 is 100% synthetic. But in music there is a term called "decay," referring to how your sound sustains and breaks down after a good strum - and thats the test of a good amp. This idea is where Moonlight really excels over BR540, where you can smell individual notes beautifully break out and shine through over time - giving it a beautiful "decay" - something that I don't think a fully synthetic fragrance like BR540 could ever achieve.

Picture the scene: you are in a luxurious resort in the middle of the Thai jungle, resting outside in an armchair. You dose yourself first in BR540 and layered a couple sprays of Oud for Greatness. As you are drinking a fancy Yuzu lemonade you spill the glass on yourself and your clothes now are covered by the 'Yuzunade' smell. Moonlight in Chiangmai.

From the discovery set. This, for me, is a rather weak woody resinous perfume concoction. Wood and sweet, but on the intimate side. The only thing I find resembling BCR540 is the fact that it’s sweet and ghostly at times. Nice scent but not to the point of being lovely. Edit. After half an hour the scent turned into BCR540. Umm… lovely but not a purchase criteria since already own BCR540 extrait. Edit. Finally got it anyway. The notes from the bottle differ slightly. The opening yuzu is slightly stronger and more beautiful.

The opening of Moonlight in Chiangmai surprised me a lot because I immediately detected the ethyl maltol candy floss sweetness and said to myself another BR540 inspired fragrance but thankfully the fragrance moves to another direction, firstly to a tart citrus opening with the ethyl maltol sweetness in the background then to a medicinal balsamic base consisting mainly of myrrh, teakwood and benzoin with hints of nutmeg, now the myrrh and teakwood combination reminds me of SHL Black Gemstone but the ethyl maltol sweetness make it quite distinctive. The way I see the scent is a combination of BR540 and SHL Black gemstone, not exactly the same but share some facets from these two fragrances.
