Reminds me of aldehyde heavy fragrances various tias would wear in the 90s. I was hoping the lily of the valley would save it for me, but it's just not my type of fragrance. I have a 7.55ml decant if anyone wants to make an offer.
I picked this up at LAX. The price at LAX is 10% cheaper than in a Le Labo store - $464 for 100ml plus tax unless you are travelling international (the staff said they do get stock of 50ml and 30ml, but they were out when I was there). This scent is so beautiful and soft and clean and creamy and light. Nothing overpowering or cloying to those around me; I personally never want my scents to nose rape those in my vicinity - I want them just strong enough to give people whispers of scent. I know plenty of men wear and love this scent, but I personally find it very feminine. I never want to be without this beauty in my collection. If I could improve one thing, I wish this had better longevity. By the end of a work day, the scent is barely detectable.
It is the best musk perfume except for the price that is too expensive.
Well done Le Labo! I'd say a animalic, almost fecal perfume for Los Angeles is pretty fitting these days what with the hoards of homeless deficating in the streets. Very accurate!
Very powdery and clean… I do think it is appropriate for the Los Angeles city scent… it makes me think of what the ladies dressing rooms of old Hollywood must have smelled like… powdery and dusty but sophisticated. To my nose it leans slightly feminine… but I think that’s because it reminds me of old school setting powder makeup. It’s pretty but it’s a bit basic… and for the price point, I am not sure that it has my attention… especially considering that many of the classic Le Labo fragrances have the same musk note in them…and the projection/longevity is a little bit weak. I do think this could easily be a signature scent for many people though. Edit: After spending some more time with this fragrance in different temperatures, I am back to report that this fragrance is heavenly if you are into musk/aldehyde frags. The drydown is especially dreamy. I am in love and it is likely that I’ll be reaching out to a friend in LA to pull a favor for me.
