The new perfume deviates significantly from its OG counterpart, with only the plum and musk notes in common. The original features a more refined suede note that is absent in the Rose version. This fragrance leans heavily on tuberose and vanilla, with a subtle plummy opening. I'm not picking up any rose presence whatsoever. Nevertheless, it's an alluring, sexy, rich floral and musky scent that has me craving a bottle. It's perfect for a sultry summer date night.
It's quite lovely, actually. The scent brings to mind Lancôme Lumineuse and its flankers - think burnt sugar and Turkish delight. On my skin, it's very sweet. For comparison, Musc Noir has a distinct character that differs significantly from this fragrance on me. If you enjoy Lancôme, you'll likely appreciate this one as well. However, if, like me, you prefer non-sweaty, more musky, floral, and mature fragrances, then Musc Noir might be worth exploring.
