The reformulation is nothing like the original concerning what made Nautica great in the first place. This stuff opens with mostly a citrus aldehyde bath with some jasmine, and doesn't last much longer than that dryer sheet smell you get when you take your clothes out. The original version to my memory was of course aldehyde driven on the spray, but had more of a green pungent note possibly from the tarragon and sage. In fact I bought this for a friend who loved it because he has a thing for the smell of sage in the spring time desert range. Later it became a scent that kept on and on... for hours with cedar/evergreen and sandalwood notes... and for some reason you would even catch a glimpse of it once in a while that had a bit of body odor scent to it. Did I enjoy it a bunch more then? Possibly not. But at least it was worth the price of admission back then if you got into that kind of scent. I paid 9.99 for a 3.4oz bottle and still feel like they got to me on the price. Currently, I think I could get more bang for the buck to buy a box of dryer sheets and cram one in my shirt pocket.

I smelt this at a dept store just to get a good whiff. I get a good presence with this one, definitely an AXE alternative (if you feel like AXE is too cheap for an occasion) spicy definitely on a fresher note. When I was really in my teens, a young layman passed me by on a bicycle smelling fresh but not like cheapy scents because of how alcohol astringency dominates the way too cheap scents. Decent silage, sporty casual not at all sophisticated I would say you either like it or you don't. Get a smell before buying DO NOT BLINDBUY. I have had too many bad experiences blind buying; I just decided to quit that idea altogether

I don't care what anyone says. I like it! It's smells like a breeze of soapy waves. It's very clean and refreshing.

Fresh and clean, little powdery

Opening is kind of woody and spicy. The drydown smells like soapy or detergent-ish. Would recommend for a summer use.
