Paris*LA is as close as I've come to a signature scent in years. The cola, lime, and ginger opening is at once effervescent and warm. These notes--and the herbal heart--balance the sweet base and keep it from becoming too cloying. Had I not seen the notes listed here, I don't know that I would have picked up on macarons specifically, but it does manage to convey a certain "chewiness," like burnt sugar, caramel, or even bread on the drydown. It makes me smell like a grown-up Strawberry Shortcake doll in the best possible way.
I adore the opening blast of cola which dissipates almost immediately. Cola leaves and this becomes a cloying, eye-watering, migraine inducing synthetic musk bomb. Really wish the cola was the entire scent because that is delicious and uplifting, or at least, that they could use a less violent musk. Sadly, as much as I love the opening, I just can't deal with the rest of the scent.
Sounds so deliscous!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT IT!!!!!!!!
This fragrance is perfect for a carefree spring day outdoors because it just smells like having a good time. Admittedly, it smells very synthetic, but this is part of the fun. The fizzier notes of lime, coca-cola and ginger blend well with the sweetness of the macaroons. I also perceive a distinct strawberry note along with some freshly baked bread. So far, I have not smelled anything like it and I suggest that lovers of playful fragrances try this as well.
Sometimes you feel like a fragrance was just made for you. That's the kind of strong connection I have to this fragrance. Paris LA is IMHO an ingenious combination with so many odd angles on some of my favorite sweets and spices. I couldn't tell you what I love more, the fizzy spicy limey coca cola or that awesome and unapologetic macaron note. This fragrance is FUN. Sweet and sassy. Great lasting power and moderate projection and silage. Perfect for what it is. Brava, brava.
