I find this perfume to possess a remarkably subtle and cleansing aroma :) I appreciate its simplicity for everyday occasions. Among Shakira's fragrances, this one stands out as a must-keep. Its scent evokes the same laid-back atmosphere as Gabrielle Essence by Chanel, albeit with a distinct soapy warmth that endures throughout the day.
Shakira has successfully created one celebrity vanilla-based fragrance that I actually enjoy. This scent resonates with her persona, characterized by her sultry dance moves and provocative songs infused with rhythmic sensuality. She exudes a captivating Latin allure in her distinctive manner. The fragrance's simplicity is remarkable, as it appears to be more complex than expected. The benzoin stands out for me, contributing to its unique charm. The jasmine is seductive, as always, while the prominent sandalwood note ensures this scent doesn't become just another vanilla perfume. The soft, not overly sweet vanilla is balanced by the subtle sweetness that emerges from the jasmine. This fragrance effectively captures my favorite floral family - orientals. At its affordable price point, this drugstore find works well as a reliable go-to staple for any occasion.
I acquired S by Shakira just a short while ago, and although I purchased it for $45 from eBay, on one hand, I genuinely believe it's worth its price, but on the other hand, I'm still slightly underwhelmed since I anticipated a larger quantity considering the cost. Honestly, I am absolutely enamored with this fragrance! It's perfect for me. While Beyonce's Heat is designed for a provocative woman in my opinion, S by Shakira is tailored for a kind and virtuous individual. Or that's just the essence I sense when experiencing this scent and viewing Shakira's official TV commercial. This might sound peculiar, but I think this is an exquisite fragrance. And it's not too overpowering on my nose, unfortunately, the scent gradually fades away. Nonetheless, S smells so incredible that I would have purchased a larger bottle. Honestly, now that I possess this unique scent, I don't want it to come to an end... And it will still take a while until this fragrance becomes available in Finland (I got mine from Spain). A romantic fragrance that reminds me of the summer sun... so does the luminous goldish color of the bottle as well. This bottle's shape resembles Aladdin's magic lamp. A very pleasant fragrance indeed.
This Shakira perfume isn't quite as bad as I thought it would be, given its non-Eau Florale reputation. Unfortunately, it's too gentle for my taste (I prefer robust, fruity florals), but since I only sampled it from the bottle, I'm willing to give it another try when I visit my grandma next time 👍
Here's the rewritten comment: Apparently I'm on a spree of testing celebrity fragrances, with Shakira S being my most recent encounter. The glass part of the flacon looks nice enough, but I think the gold matte metal design is tacky. While the packaging isn't impressive, the fragrance itself doesn't break the bank, so I wouldn't expect much from the bottle. In terms of scent, Shakira S isn't overly seductive or original, but I do enjoy it. The perfume seems straightforward, a basic vanilla-jasmine blend without any complex notes or woods. For its price, I think it's an enjoyable fragrance suitable for daily use when you want something simple and comforting. The longevity is decent, though the projection is almost non-existent - it would take close proximity to smell this on someone else, making it ideal for office settings. On my skin, any resemblance to sweets or candies is misleading; while Shakira S is somewhat sweet due to the prominent vanilla note, it's not edible. The jasmine is just strong enough to balance out the vanilla. I also don't find it overly woody and it definitely has a feminine quality, no masculine vibe here! I wouldn't expect spectacular performance from this fragrance, but it does its job.
