Reviews

My relative owns the newer version of Stella perfume, which I really like. After checking online reviews, I wanted to find the original as well so I could experience both versions myself and see how they differ. As someone new to Stella perfumes, I feel confident in sharing my thoughts now that I've compared them side by side. The newer one feels brighter and fruitier compared to the original, while the older version has a richer feel, like a warmer body. Seasonally, the original leans toward cooler months, while the newer one feels spring/summer-like. Even without comparing them directly or knowing the exact changes, it's easy to overlook the differences. Both versions are unique rose scents that bring joy and lift my mood whenever I wear them. I hope this review helps others make a decision!

I tested my 2014 sample against the older bottle today, and it's still not as strong. The rosewater scent is noticeable, but Stella has changed for the worse due to a reformulation.

A really light perfume—absolutely amazing! A stunning rose that just barely touches the skin. It’s really good—not at all overwhelming and has that fresh springtime feel.

I wasn't too familiar with the older Stella version, but my friend used to wear it and it had a nice fragrance. I decided to try the newer one in a 30ml bottle. Typically, I'm not a fan of straight-up rose scents, but this one felt different from the start. I couldn't help but keep sniffing the bottle. The initial whiff had a sharp, tangy rose note that was a bit jarring at first, yet something about it kept me coming back for more. A few days later, as I applied it, I noticed the scent evolved into a rich, red-rose bouquet with a dewy freshness. It's become a favorite, and I prefer spritzing it on my clothes rather than directly on my skin, as it seems to linger longer and offer a nicer impression.

They nailed keeping the core of Stella intact but softened some of its richer elements. The new scent feels like a watered-down version of the original, almost as if Stella had been gently washed over with water. Citrus notes now overpower any amber, and the rose is less opulent, coming off as one-dimensional compared to the more layered rose in previous versions. It’s a balanced mix of rose and peony with citrus and musk, making it versatile for various occasions, including hot summers. However, old Stella had more depth and oomph, making it memorable, especially during damp autumn evenings, whereas this version feels more like just pretty without the same impact.
