Reviews

The fragrance is a rebellious free spirit, making it challenging to categorize or house. The opening notes are zesty, with grapefruit undertones that I wasn't aware of at first glance, but now I'm convinced they're there, adding an air of sophistication. Despite being unconventional, the scent exudes elegance in a novel way, as if it's defying traditional notions of classic perfumery. The three phases are equally impressive, with a light, luminous quality that's hard to ignore. There's a sense of nostalgia to this fragrance, reminding me of vintage scents like Calandre and Diorella that have evolved over time. I'd recommend wearing it during spring and summer when the weather is warm, as its unique charm shines brightest then.

Like signature scents, SUBLIME BALKISS bears the distinct mark of Ellena's craftsmanship, whether you appreciate it or not. As someone who isn't a fan of Jacques Eau de Cologne, I was surprised to find myself drawn to this minimalist anorexic chypre. Its fresh opening, featuring juicy citruses and tartly sweet black currant berries, is particularly captivating - reminiscent of L'Ombre Dans L'Eau, which I adore. The lilac and violet leaf notes add a soft powderiness that's hard to resist. However, the ISO-E Super note falls flat on my skin, lacking the denseness I crave in thicker compositions. Overall, it's a pleasant scent that strays from being exceptional.

I was anticipating a vibrant citrus profile, but unfortunately, this perfume failed to deliver. Instead of the refreshing quality I craved for summer, it struck me as an expensive car interior – notes of leathery seats, air freshener, and man's skin toner lingered on my skin. While not entirely unpleasant, it's unlikely I'd wear it again. Perhaps others will find it more appealing.

It bears a resemblance to Tann Rokka Kisu, albeit with a lighter quality. Initially, I detect citrus notes, which later evolve into herbal and green accords.

The opening of Sublime Balkiss transported me back to Enchanted Forest by The Vagabond Prince, as both share an abundance of black currants at their inception. I found myself in bliss for a brief period, as Sublime Balkiss outshone its counterpart for me. Its delicacy, juiciness, and green nuances left me enamored – unfortunately, this fleeting experience didn't last. The fragrance gradually shifted towards an aquatic rosy-green accord, with subtle undertones of lily-of-the-valley and lilac detectable. In contrast to my expectations, I couldn't pick up on any patchouli, which is a notable characteristic for me due to my sensitivity to it. Overall, Sublime Balkiss presented itself as a sleepy, yet feminine and proper, watery floral with a hint of green.
