Reviews

During a recent trip to America, I found myself sneaking into the CVS and Walgreens stores, to check out the famous "drugstore fragrances". I had already decided to buy Toujours Moi, based on the reviews of our wonderful Fragrantica members. I asked the SA if I could sample the fragrance, and she insisted on spraying it on herself. When I later paid for my purchases, she told me, "At first it smelt old-ladyish, but now it's nice". I wonder if she ended up buying a bottle. It smelt lovely on her. Nevertheless. "Old ladyish?" I could only smile. Since when do perfume houses concoct potions for the elderly? Anyway, this is a cheap perfume. The price is cheap. The packaging is cheap, the colour of the fragrance looks cheap. But it does not smell cheap. At least, not on me. It's a lovely warm, slightly spicy vanilla/amber, with a very light flutter of white florals and a drop of citrus, to prevent it from being syrupy. It warms to a sweet, powdery sophisticated scent. The notes are great for Autumn, but I'm looking forward to trying it in warmer weather, to see how it transforms in the heat.

I ordered this because it is part of modern perfume history— but Toujours Moi is now “packaged” in China, by Dana. It disappeared in under 15 minutes. I will keep it as a museum piece— on my Wall of Shame Fragrantica Shelf. Very, very sad.

Very nice light scent but does not last long at all so what I do with this scent is buy the big 8oz bottle on amazon and buy essential oils then mix the two together for a unique blend of my own perfume!

Saw this in the local drugstore for dirt cheap and bought it. What a fortunate blind buy. Smells exactly as if you took orange blossom honey and dessicated it to a powder. A unique rich, dry honeey. I agree this is a fall, scent, and a fabulous one at that, for the price.

At first, I thought Toujours Moi might be too "lady-like" (too frou-frou girly) for me. It starts off floral and stays floral but terrific hints of spice peek out. This fragrance isn't lady-like but is womanly in the best sense of the word. Makes me feel strong and beautiful.
