This is the antithesis of a strong perfume, in fact it is quite understated. As others have said it is more of an aura than a smell. However it is highly diffusive, filing the air with a pleasant sensation of freshness. I can imagine myself strolling round St Malo or walking on the cliffs and the pebbly beaches. It is perhaps not too dissimilar to other modern aquatics - I would pick out in particular the German fragrance Zeitgeist by Schwarzlose. Both these perfumes are attractive sea smells. Zeitgest is the more powerful and forceful version, a great perfume but it lacks the wonderful lightness and airiness of Un Air de Bretagne.

This is the first time I have experienced having to let a fragrance “settle”. When it first arrived I immediately used it and it was very faint. Weeks later it was the complete opposite. I love this fragrance. It has the citrus and marine scents completely balanced. It smells so fresh without the citrus overpowering the other notes. This lasts 10-12 hours on my skin. This was to date my most expensive cologne purchase and I can say I am not disappointed at all. If only all aquatic scents could fuse citrus in this balanced fashion.

The best aquatic scent ever. Does not smell sea water. It's like you're under a lemon tree and a sweet sea breeze caresses your face. Citrusy, floral, a bit powdery with this really nice sea air. So well blended. Perfect for sunny days.

If your Nona ever had those little cucumber/melon decorative soaps sitting in a bowl on top of the guest bathroom toilet, then you know what this smells like A light, inoffensive scent. Marine, slightly vegetal, breezy. It’s nice and serves its purpose very well

Un Air de Bretagne for me is a finely made, atmospheric scent of a gentle but never ending rain on the sea coast. It is a cold summer. Not dank, but more than fresh and very, very humid. This is really a "raw" watercolor perfume of the cold sea and rain. A leisurely walk along the shore, water from below, water from above, and you between them an unreasonably contented and joyful person in a bright raincoat and rubber boots. Yes, this is Brittany, the land of the Baltic Sea, rain and sea, sea and rain, and no more information is known ...
