Jean-Louis Scherrer
Jean-Louis Scherrer (1935-2013) was a French couturier whose elegant designs were a favorite among the wealthy and glamourous. An early stint with famed house Christian Dior had him working alongside Yves Saint Laurent. Both would go on to form their own fashion houses and become celebrated designers in the 1960s. Scherrer managed his house and continued as chief designer until a sale of the brand led to his removal in 1992. The Scherrer brand name continued under other chief designers, finally ceasing fashion production in 2007. Scherrer remained an active brand for licensed products, including fragrances, for a number of years. The designer passed away in 2013. In 2014, the brand was revived and opened a flagship store on Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré and the brand's first fragrance release since the early 2000s, One Love, was launched in 2015. Signature fragrance Jean-Louis Scherrer was launched in 1979, a women's chypre fragrance that became an enduring classic and was the first in a series of fragrances for both men and women over the years. Designer Jean-Louis Scherrer has 14 perfumes in our fragrance base. The earliest edition was created in 1979 and the newest is from 2017. Jean-Louis Scherrer fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Nathalie Lorson, Raphael Haury, Josette Ramisse, Nathalie Feisthauer, Thomas Fontaine, Marie-Aude Couture, Mathilde Bijaoui, Violaine Collas and Julie Massé.
