I was thrilled to discover this stunning scent recently. Its musky, dried floral notes immediately drew me in, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. However, I found it lacked the depth and strength I usually look for. Perhaps it’s better suited for a companion who might appreciate its delicate balance. Overall, while I give it an 8/10 rating, I can see why it might be a perfect match for someone with a different skin type or preference. JG 042312
Jean Patou's "1000" is an elegant and classy scent. It blends woody, powdery, soapy notes with violets, roses, and an earthy base that includes patchouli—really stunning and timeless. I'm really into Jean Patou right now, especially after reading about their recent news. These perfumes are from serious, reputable houses, not the usual celebrity or fly-by-night brands. Each one is a pure expression of elegance in a bottle, almost like aromatherapy for the soul. The scent has a powerful sillage that can easily fill a whole room.
I really love this perfume! It’s not available in Argentina, but it remains my favorite!
I own the mini version and would love to get the full-size bottle; it's simply irresistible.
The comparison to Clandestine and J'ai Osé doesn't quite hit the mark. While Perfume 1000 shares some similarities with Clandestine in terms of dark animalic notes and a high floral presence, it lacks the fruity and honeyed qualities that make Clandestine so recognizable. The overall feel is colder and less warm, which gives it a more reserved and elegant vibe. In fact, I can’t help but think it's channeling another Guy Laroche scent: J'ai Osé. It’s meant for an elegant witch, not the vibrant, sun-kissed version we get with Clandestine. The vintage iteration really nailed the notes—bergamot, tarragon, angelica, damask rose, and osmanthus in the top; jasmine de Grasse, violets, orris, and Californian rose in the heart; and a base of patchouli, civet, vetiver, and sandalwood.
