I just applied two tiny spritzes today, feeling a bit subdued by the cool weather. This is the older 90s EDP with the flower bud gold cap, which has an unmistakably French essence to me - pure beauty. The scent evolves warmly, showcasing golden vanilla and amber powder notes that are truly divine. It takes its time to unfold, slowly lifting you up... and I'd say it's sublime! I've said this before, but it bears repeating: show me someone who can't wear this fragrance, as it transcends social boundaries. You might think it's for a specific style or demographic, but it has the uncanny ability to dress you up. I'm still trying to figure out how it achieves that magic.
My EDP is quite vintage, as I have no packaging to reference. Despite not being familiar with its age, I've had it for a year now and haven't used it due to my initial disliking. The mini sample caught my attention, so I purchased it. However, this summer's sweltering heat and humidity have surprisingly brought out the best in this scent - it has bloomed into its full potential like a flower unfolding. As a result, I've grown to adore it, and it now reminds me of Gianni Versace's classic perfume. Thankfully, I didn't get rid of it as planned.
This perfume is truly exceptional and unparalleled in its category.
It's about time this perfume is being discontinued! Thankfully, I've been wise enough to stockpile backup bottles over the decade, knowing I'd wear it forever. Definitely a good idea to seek out vintage versions with the bud cap, just be cautious of counterfeit sellers on eBay. Interestingly, when paired with Sublime bath gel, it separates into distinct layers - quite unique!
People, I highly recommend opting for EDP if possible, as its unique value far surpasses the extra cost. While my EDT is cherished, I've discovered that the latest formulation fell short of expectations due to compromised longevity, which doesn't align with the rest of my Patous' performance.
