Who'd have thought they could ruin A*Men? Is it just me, or should A*Men and mint not go anywhere near together? Pure Malt and Havane are far superior.
This is a well-blended scent made up of sharp, fresh, and crispy combination of mint, juniper berry, and pepper in the top; and a woody-patchouli combination in the base. Although it is a very 'fresh' scent, it goes toward a 'luxurious' style rather than a 'comfy-casual' one, and in contrast to some of the reviews here I don't see it as being a sporty or gym scent. I honestly believe Thierry Mugler did a really good job in creating this: the application of mint, juniper berry, and patchouli is really wonderful! However, since it is very different from other products in A*Men line, I think it was better to make it a new and independent perfume. I added this to my own wardrobe and would definitely recommend trying it. Just beware that in terms of strength it is a little bit fleeting. I get a good longevity but projection is weak. Overall: 8.5 out of 10.
I bought two bottles of Pure Shot going dirt cheap on-line some three or four years ago. I opened one bottle, wore it a few times, and quite frankly, I was disappointed - it did nothing for me. I sold the other bottle to a friend some time later, as he is an A*Men fan. Anyhow, earlier this year I came across him and his girlfriend and he smelled marvellous. I asked him what he was wearing. He said "That one you sold me - Pure Shot". Regards.
Really good - fits the winter not for hot days, the longevity is not like the original A*MEN
On first impression I thought it was a bad BO smell but after letting it settle it turns into a very peppery, minty scent. It's a dirty, icy feeling like menthol and undoubtedly masculine. I'm sure my barber wears this and it fits him so well I didn't think it was fragrance. Imagine bulky, hairy chest, bald and full beard. Not much projection or sillage on this and expect about 5 hours in hotter weather. Reminiscent of a pepper shower gel I used to use which would last hours on skins. Beautiful bottle.
