Absolutely Irresistible

😊 At first, this perfume's scent is as captivating as a sweet treat made with red berries sorbet, specifically raspberries, boasting a concentrated fruity-tropical flowery gourmand aroma. I believe the key to this opening is the red berries-heliotrope combination. This initial phase would suit the youthful charm and sensuality of a teenager perfectly. However, this perfume's transformative powers are remarkable! It evolves into a dry, earthy tone reminiscent of an old bottle left in a closet, with amber dominating the dry down, leaving only faint, dusty reminders of raspberry sorbet on a velvet curtain - a sensation similar to wearing low-quality makeup all day, which initially shines but eventually fades away. 🌸

This perfume didn't particularly capture my attention, and there was nothing about it that stood out to me as truly exceptional. My husband felt the same way, remarking that he could easily ignore its scent. He perceived it as having a spicy quality, which wasn't quite in line with what I expected from an oriental fragrance. While I can see where his assessment comes from, compared to Very Irresistible, I still prefer the latter.

I couldn't detect anything uniquely impressive, although it is sweet. However, it's reminiscent of several other fragrances. Nevertheless, I do believe it's a decent perfume and I'm eager to purchase it.

I received a sample of this perfume in a swap, having been influenced by mixed reviews that led me to expect something impressive. However, it seems that body chemistry has played a significant role here, as the scent unfolded differently on my skin. On me, it's a delicate floral with paprika only briefly noticeable at the start, while I also detect hints of chocolate although none are listed in the notes. Ultimately, this is a gentle, soothing fragrance suitable for spring and fall, which wears close to the skin with moderate longevity.

In my opinion, Very Irresistible stands out because of its superior lasting power and overall strength. While I do think Absolutely I is a good perfume with one notable exception - when a fragrance's vivid top notes become muted in the base notes due to patchouli, unfortunately Absolutely I suffers from this issue, much like YSL Elle. What I appreciate most about Absolutely I are the paprika and top notes, which offer a peppery and sharp quality, as well as the prominent jasmine in the heart notes. However, once the patchouli kicks in, the magic is lost.
