Reviews

I'm aware that Givenchy Amarige is widely popular, making my assessment a rare exception. Despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews I'd read, I decided to test it at my local House of Fraser out of curiosity. The experience was unmitigated disaster. On my skin, I detected no floral or sweet notes, only an overpowering, pungent aroma that resembled the scent of an unclean public restroom. One whiff caused a lump to form in my throat and my stomach to churn; I felt on the verge of gagging. The same unpleasantness occurred when I applied the sample to paper. The smell was repulsive, and I hastened to remove it as quickly as possible - only to find that I still reeked afterwards. I had previously tried a 2ml sample of Susan from Al Rehab, which is purported to be a dupe for Amarige. While it was slightly less off-putting than the original, there was still an unmistakable whiff of excrement. Even my aunt winced in distaste when she caught a glimpse of the fragrance. I apologize if my assessment contradicts that of others who enjoy Amarige, but for me, it's nothing short of dreadful. It truly is pants.

Savoring the joy of being surrounded by friends, a sudden moment of serenity was shattered as my lovely sister effortlessly wafted by, leaving behind an irresistible scent trail. I stopped in my tracks, compelled to investigate further. With anticipation building, I rushed over and implored her to reveal the identity of that captivating fragrance. Initially hesitant, she eventually relented, sharing with me the secrets of Amarige, a discovery from 1995 that remains etched in my memory like a masterpiece of tuberose perfection.

This perfume exudes a cozy warmth, redolent of flowers. I think it's most suitable for the winter and spring seasons. Its longevity is impressive, persisting for hours on end. The overall composition is rich and indulgent, showcasing its luxurious quality.

This perfume is destined to remain my ultimate favorite fragrance. Its loveliness has a profound effect on me, making me naturally inclined towards white florals. The scent exudes joyfulness and festivity while maintaining an air of sophistication. Although it's positioned at the lower end of the price spectrum as an EDT, its luxurious quality is undeniable, and I often reach for it to mark special occasions. I perceive this fragrance as more suited to spring and distinctly feminine in character. Despite the potentially overwhelming notes pyramid, I find that the neroli and ylang-ylang expertly balance each other, infusing the scent with a sense of lightness.

Writing another review for the sake of pleasure! For my part, Amarige surpasses Coco in my book. Because Coco is somewhat finicky on me. I adore its dramatic flair but it only works for me when applied to fabric, as the prominent civet note can be overwhelming on skin. On the other hand, Amarige is sublime!
