Amber, cinnamon, and spices are prominent in this fragrance, with no discernible citrus or green notes. The scent does not linger for long on the skin. Despite its small size, my 5ml tester appears to be well-preserved, lacking any signs of degradation.
I recently acquired a tester from an vintage perfume shop with a dark hue reminiscent of a previous review. In contrast, it bears little resemblance to Amarige, instead unfolding as a gentle, warm, and radiant floral delight. I'm thrilled to have discovered this lovely scent, as fragrances that maintain their floral charm without becoming cloying are indeed rare treasures.
I am enamored with this perfume's sensual and warm balsamic spicy essence, which resonates perfectly with my tastes. However, its lack of projection is a major letdown, as I found myself struggling to detect any presence when wearing it. Despite my initial frustration, I still gave it a chance by applying more generously, but even then, no one around me could pick up on the scent. It's only after half an hour that the fragrance seemed to fade away from my senses entirely. I'm unsure if this is due to my skin chemistry or not, as I've experienced similar issues with other perfumes in the past.
I purchased the 1oz eau de parfum as a safety measure due to limited storage space in my room, despite being initially hesitant about the smaller size. To my surprise, this fragrance is surprisingly old-fashioned considering its release date of 2006. The first spray hit me with an intoxicating and overpowering burst of bold florals reminiscent of the 80s powerhouses, as mentioned by mellybelly. Upon application, I noticed that it bears a striking similarity to Gucci Accenti on my skin, but the drydown is quite distinct from this. The initial projection is extremely strong, with excellent longevity and a moderate sillage on me. I detect a dominant rich heavy magnolia and cedar note, accompanied by a generous dose of cinnamon, which is more aromatic than spicy. The drydown is truly exceptional, featuring a rich non-edible vanilla that lingers alongside the warm remnants of cinnamon. The composition is consistently sweetened by the jasmine note throughout. Overall, I'm thrilled to have acquired this fragrance in its 1oz size, as it seems destined to last for an extended period – one full spritz has already lasted 12 hours. I would recommend this scent to those with a mature taste, particularly those above the age of 28.
It exudes a captivating charm and intensity, evoking memories of the iconic Miss Dior Le Parfum.
