Reviews

This perfume catches my attention with its sweet, dusty rose scent, evoking a Victorian vibe. It starts off delicate but gradually develops a boozy, alluring quality that feels mysterious without leaning into noir territory. The overall aura is vampiric in a refined way—kind of like what I’d imagine the lead character in Crimson Peak might smell like. While it’s undeniably gorgeous, I’m not sure it justifies the $200 price tag, especially since I only have a sample to go off of. My review might lean positively biased because of that limited experience.

This fragrance feels quite mature. It doesn’t feel like something a younger person in their 40s would enjoy.

This scent has such an intense contrast—warm and cool all at once! The base is rich and warm, like a balm, with just a hint of bitter oak. The top is both sweet and tangy, like ripe raspberries, and I can picture it as if those berries were dusted with snow. Very interesting!

This one was a big surprise. On the strip, it felt average: a little citrusy, a little cherry, slightly boozy (but not as winey as Bello Rabelo). But on my skin, it transformed into something totally different—fruity and floral. I have to admit, this scent won me over more than Amouage's Lyric Man. They’re definitely very different styles. While Lyric Man leans toward the dry, dusty, green side of rose, Bloody Wood is all about the sweet, bright, jammy aspect. The opening was striking—a sharp, zesty citrus note that made itself clearly known. Fruits quickly followed, with rich cherry and other red fruit notes standing out to me. The rose became more pronounced later on, likely amplified by those fruity tones. It’s not overpoweringly rosy in a way that feels too feminine but also doesn’t dry out or become soap-like like some masculine rose fragrances can. The drydown was pleasantly fruity with just enough of a light woodsy scent to add depth without becoming creamy or powdery. I got about 6-7 hours of wear time, which is impressive for a fruit-forward scent, especially considering my body chemistry tends to neutralize such scents. I was really surprised by how much I liked this one overall—and even a colleague at work noticed its appeal. It’s definitely a keeper for me!

The top notes of this fragrance feature crushed raspberries with a sugary sweetness, alongside a jammy rose aroma. There's a subtle dryness, along with an incense-like warmth and woody undertones. It’s not as sharp on my skin as I thought, which is perfect because I prefer scents that are softer and kinder to the senses. This unisex fragrance is both inviting and enjoyable to wear.
