Reviews

I believe this fragrance would be more effective as a cologne rather than a traditional perfume. While approaching it in this way, I find it to be an excellent alternative to classic eau de cologne. The juniper effectively prevents the scent from being too sweet and floral while contributing to its freshness. The patchouli plays a supporting role, remaining subtle and unobtrusive. A Japanese friend noted that the fragrance has a Yuzu-buro quality to it, reminiscent of throwing Yuzu fruit into a hot bath for an aromatic experience. I agree that it possesses a certain "steamy" character.

There are numerous intoxicating and radiant neroli and orange blossom fragrances available, but what sets them apart is their fleeting nature. Olivier Pescheux's solution to this issue is ingenious - combining juniper, angelica, and patchouli to amplify the characteristics of neroli. The result is a fragrance that begins with a green, peppery quality reminiscent of crushed orange leaves, but eventually evolves into a refined, fresh, calming scent evoking the sweet aroma of orange blossoms on a summer evening. On my skin, it lingers most of the day and even permeates clothing for days. If you desire to be enveloped in soothing, tranquil whiffs of orange blossom throughout the day, Eau des Sens is an excellent choice. Even opening the bottle provides a therapeutic experience, transporting me to a serene atmosphere - a welcome respite in today's fast-paced world. Additionally, I find this perfume bottle to be particularly striking, making it not only a wonderful fragrance but also a work of art.

This perfume embodies the essence of summer, with its vibrant orange blossom and neroli notes that are reminiscent of a sunny day. Its opening is uncannily similar to L'Eau de Neroli by Diptyque, transporting me to a state of carefree bliss.

While pleasant initially, this perfume's longevity was underwhelming, as it dissipated rapidly on my skin within a short span of ten minutes. However, when applied to clothing, the fragrance maintained its presence moderately well. Nevertheless, I still find myself drawn to Oyedo by Diptyque for its more satisfying orange scent; thus, I plan to experiment with layering both fragrances to discover any potential surprises that may arise.

I've always had a soft spot for fragrances that feature orange blossom and neroli notes. This one commences with an airy, calming accord of orange blossom and bitter orange, providing a serene introduction. However, after about 15-20 minutes, the scent takes on a heavier character, morphing into something akin to shaving cream. Unfortunately, this development struck me as overly cloying and stifling. While it's not unpleasant, it's not quite to my taste either. Notably, this fragrance is slightly more robust than many other orange blossom/neroli scents I've encountered. Additionally, it may potentially trigger headaches in some individuals. I would recommend trying it before making a purchase.
