A sweet and spicy masculine with a classic feel. Besides of the obvious spiciness at the beginning, it's sweet and warm. Usually the lavender brings a mentholated and cold smell, but not here; the lavender is aromatic and warm. The base is creamy sandalwood with light traces of leather. 6/10
People seem to love to hate this House but the truth is, they've lasted this long for a reason! Like 99.9% of all other houses, you win some & you lose others but they nailed a homerun with this one! I read other reviews gripping more about "what's not in the composition" & less of THE BOTTOM LINE,"THIS JUICE SMELLS AMAZING!" Quite honestly, i don't care where the ingredients are from. Whether or not the oakmoss or the tea is from England, Egypt, China or the north pole... WHO CARES! Bottom line, the composition smells similar to what i would relate to the name.... EGYPT! I get a very sexy blend of spices, oakmoss, cardamom, nutmeg & some kind of juicy citrus, patchouli, leather, sandlewood AND A WHOLE LOT OF EGYPT!!
Pretty nice, easygoing scent that has easily found comparisons, so not very unique. Although it does have oakmoss in the opening, and how often do we see that? Although it's not a prominent moss. The listed comparisons are pretty accurate. Chanel Allure Homme for example. And because of that association, also to my Lalique Pour Homme Faune. But there are a lot of references to fougeres and "barbershop" below. There are Fougere touches in this, no doubt due to the prominent lavender and "earthy" accord. But its sweet Spicy. I didn't know cardamom and nutmeg were that sweet. I have cardamom in my Spice rack, and it doesn't smell that sweet. Reading the below reviews, it seems a lot of people are under the misconception that this frag, Egypt, was the one attributable to the JFK story and all. That's the OG, not Egypt. There are remarks to the effect that this frag doesn't smell old, like 1937. It doesn't. Not supposed to. I'm not that familiar with this brand and I don't know if the story is true, but I'm under the impression that the Eight & Bob OG that started the brand was a recreation of that 1937 formula. Who knows how faithful to the real original, if it indeed existed, it is. Never smelled the OG. Does it smell old?
If you picture the sun over the pyramids, this smell is something you'd think to get, I think at least maybe. It's soft spicy, not aggressive, although the initial spray is a big blast of what it ends up drying down to. It's very pleasant and I think you can wear this at anytime of the year and it will work well. It's very inoffensive and safe, so depending how you feel about that when looking at the cost of this, it might turn you away. So in conclusion, it's something to try out but, to buy, I personally want something more out of a fragrance than just being safe for the cost that this is.
This smells like Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint Germain EDP, starts off fresh spicy then grows into a warm resinous woody grassy slightly rosy fougere 3-4 sprays good projection and longevity
