Reviews

This scent shares a familiar quality with M01 + Iris, yet presents itself as more refined, boasting a noticeably stronger leather presence while retaining its smoothness. Unlike Iris, which tends to become powdery, this fragrance exhibits a suede-like characteristic that sets it apart. Both scents are pleasant, but I have a slight preference for the original combination.

Evocative notes of asphalt and damp vegetation.

So, here comes the unimpressed introduction: YOU DON'T EXHALE MUCH FOR AN OVERPRICED PERFUME. This starts with a potent whiff of isopropyl alcohol, which might evoke memories of medical settings or school assignments for some. It gradually transforms into a faint, melancholic musk, accompanied by hints of pepper and an echo of something fresh. Alternatively, this could be my brain desperately attempting to uncover significance in this enigmatic scent. Why do I get the feeling that this is an elaborate joke?

After this perfume dries down, it really excels in terms of its captivating fragrance. The subtle wafts I experience are both enchanting and polarizing. To be honest, I keep thinking that I smell great when wearing it. While the French Lover inspiration is present, the iris and ambroxan add a clean, elegant, and slightly soapy quality to the scent, which is expertly executed.

I was really intrigued by the buzz and formula of this line, but after trying it out, I was left underwhelmed. On first spray, I detected nothing at all - it was quite strange! Thirty minutes later, a faint soap note emerged, but with no projection whatsoever. Throughout the wear, nobody could detect the scent on me. The dry down showed some promise, but the iris and soap notes made it smell dull and lacking in sillage. I was hoping for more ambroxen, especially given my love for Another 13 by Le Labo, which always gets rave reviews from others. It seems like they were trying to replicate that scent, but the result fell flat - a bizarre misfire that's tone deaf to both the wearer and those around them. For another $50 or so, you can treat yourself to the real deal instead of this poor imitation.
