Roses amidst a sultry, smoky, and edgy atmosphere. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’จ

This floral mix of rose and jasmine showcases a prominent Iso E Super note on my skin. While I find the blend to be nice overall, I would prefer more intense aroma chemical presence. Upon initial application, I experience a rubbery sensation that I enjoy. Unfortunately, it dries down quickly and loses its strength on my skin. The scent has a refreshing quality reminiscent of dew on a spring morning, with a green character akin to freshly cut grass.

This perfume bears a striking resemblance to the discontinued Dsquared2 Potion Royal Black.

This is an acceptable perfume, neither overpowering nor subtle to the point of being unnoticeable. What I find particularly striking is the prominent rose note, which dominates the scent initially before blending with other notes in a harmonious way. Although, there is a distinct artificial quality that catches my attention - possibly the result of the lychee or cumin lingering in the background? The honey during the opening 10 minutes is quite strong but eventually settles down. For me, roses are the most prominent feature, while I barely detect any lychee. I can see how this perfume might come across as overly powdery to those who aren't fond of rose scents, giving it a somewhat "grandma-like" feel. The sillage is nicely balanced, but I'm still unsure about its longevity.

I'm trying out the ELdO discovery set as my advent calendar, and I'll share my thoughts on each sample daily ๐ŸŽ Day 16: Experimentum Cruxis I often find myself in sync with others' perfume reviews, but not this time ๐Ÿ˜•. My experience with Experimentum Cruxis was a far cry from what I read. ELdO's fragrances usually pack a punch, and this one did too... to the point of overwhelming me ๐Ÿคฏ. From the get-go, it felt like someone doused me in frankincense incense ๐Ÿ”ฅ. The scent was heavy-handed and dominated everything else, making it hard for other notes to shine through. And unfortunately, it never really opened up or transformed; it just stayed strong and cloying ๐Ÿ˜”. The only positive aspect is its longevity, but overall, I didn't enjoy this perfume at all ๐Ÿ‘Ž. For me and my partner, there was no woody or sweet element, just a one-dimensional frankincense-rose combo that was too much to handle ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ.
