I’m a sucker for a cozy chestnut fragrance, and this one is a love for me. It’s perfectly unisex, I would love it on a man as much as I do myself. It makes me want to curl up with a book and a chestnut latte in a library in which someone has smoked an expensive cigar. This opens with a boozy, creamy vanilla, and then with a hint of smokiness. The dry down reveals more sensual smokiness, and the chestnut— which I find to be delicious but not overwhelmingly gourmand. Frustration in my opinion is a longer lasting, more sophisticated By the Fireplace. I think this is a misunderstood fragrance! Anyone who qualifies this as smelling of cigarettes has been smoking something else. I wouldn’t recommend it as a blind buy based on the strong reactions from the haters, but if you appreciate niche, smoky, cozy scents, you should give Frustration a test!

Found the cumin noticeable and appreciate the sexiness of a human-sweat like note. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of this fragrance as I wore it. Not an everyday fragrance for me but an enjoyable experience and I’d consider a full size purchase. Currently it’s not appropriate for my lifestyle so I’ll enjoy during free time. It feels cozy and sensual simultaneously.

I purchased a tester of this perfume. It would have to be something really special because I think it's very expensive. Top notes were mouldy wood, then boiling chickpeas. I'm not kidding! It then settled down into something warmer and woody with cinnamon. Unfortunately, it made my sleeve smell like petrol. So there it is - was.

I tried this three times to make sure I wasn’t being too harsh. The initial blast smells like peanut butter spread. A few minutes later, I was able to pick out the cinnamon, vanilla, and rum, and for a brief moment you think “this is okay,” but then you realize that it’s not doing any of these things particularly well. This scent wants you to dislike it, and it succeeds. It settles down sweet, woody, and depressed. This scent is unpleasant. It is vaguely reminiscent of a stale cigarette. Worse is how it smells on clothes after some time; just like the back of a goblin’s knee. It’s a hard pass for me.

It's the perfect autumn comfort scent for chestnut lovers. In the beginning I am able to smell the rum and cinnamon and the scent is definitely growing on my skin just needs a bit time and warmth. In the middle the vanille and the chestnut takes the main role almost till the end. I can recommend this fragrantica to someone who liked the chestnut-vanille vibe in L'Artisan Parfumeur Noir Exquis (just that one was too dark or too masculine) or Bond No.9 I love New York becasue they have the same vibe. Longevity is very good, sillage is intimate.
