A rather strange scent on me. I get a large powdery scent with a fruity?? scent of some kind. Not even a masculine scent. The first spray made some sense, but the rest left me wondering if it was all my fault. SO, I now have a 100mL NIB original, roosting in a cool dark coop - waiting....
Top notes reminds me of sweeter, spicier White Tea from L'Occitane. It's White Tea with a spoonful of pepper. Quite unique opening and not at all what I was expecting from scent that so many compared to Pink Sugar. After this (rather pleasant) surprise, middle notes punched me in the face with sweet, car freshener fruity smell, passionfruit at its worst I think. Nevermind passionfruit, I survived without scrubbing it off of my wrists and finally could inhale sweet sweet smell of childhood. Caramel and candy floss with vanilla cream cake. Delicious! It's not the most sophisticated but well made (well, minus purple Wunderbaum scent of passionfruit, yuk) and cosy scent, perfect for grey Autumn/ Winter days. Must try for gourmands lovers
I don't know what to make of this. It's sweet, yes, but it's not your typical teen or gourmand sweet. When I swapped for this (blind, might I add), I was expecting some sugary sweet, diabetic coma-inducing fragrance. Some even compared to Pink Sugar which is my holy grail (well, one of them at least). What I got out of this is a very juice-like fragrance. Juicy, fruity, and yes sweet. BUT the jasmine and white tea takes a little bit of the cavity off of the sweet tooth. I think it was HC's way of trying to make the fragrance more wearable to an adult or older population. I don't really care for the passion fruit in it either, but it's not that bad. Eh, I like it, I think. My guy friend (of course) loves it, but that could be me he's loving :) LOL. Lasting power on this baby is about 4-6 hours on the skin and 8-12 hours on clothing. Sillage isn't that great, only staying 1-2 hours. It's worth a try for the sweet lovers. Especially my sweet-loving ladies who aren't very partial to floral but what to dab into it!
I love, love, love this stuff...I bought it unsniffed for a great deal at Winners. I did have a bit of a cheat sheat though, on the back of the very pretty box it came in was a list of ingredients...but not just any list! It actually listed from the top, to heart, to base notes! More perfumes should have this. Anyways, the second I got it out to the truck I opened the box and took a nice whiff....oh my gosh...the scent blew me away, just gorgeous! Upon first sniff you can definately detect the rhubarb and pink pepper, but soon enough it melts into this amazing vanilla, caramel, peppery scent. It is not sickly sweet like Pink Sugar, it is more of a "Bad-Ass" sweetness...something a rocker chick would wear, something a woman who favors black, or leather, or rivets could pull off. It would also wear well on a woman dressed in one solid colour..think pink, yellow, blue...even denim and diamonds could pull this off. It is a gorgeous scent, not hugely overpowering, but the girl wearing this has to have a personality to match...a bit sweet, a bit sassy, and alot of wit. I love it!!!!! There is nothing like Hard Candy...
People who wrinkle their noses when I wear my chypre fragrances and my designer/niche ones always, always ask what sweet wonder I'm wearing when this is my fragrance of the day (or night). What is it with gourmands? Deep down, do we all love cookies, pastries and candy? If the compliments I receive are any indication the answer is a resounding "Yes!". Hard candy is vanilla caramel, rosewater Turkish Delight and cotton candy, with rhubarb adding a splash of something tart and juicy that dispels any notion that this is a mere childish sweet. This is candy for grown-ups who flash back to childhood when they walk into a candy shop and smile and even giggle a little when they walk out with a little paper sack full of goodies. Amazing longevity and powerful sillage - a little goes a long way. Go on, treat yourself!
